Going on vacation and finding a good place to eat is never easy. Add in 3 kids and the task is even harder. Lucky for us; our hotel was right across from Jack Russell's. After reviewing the menu; we all decided upon something - Chicken Parmigiano, Teriyaki Steak Tips & Scallops and Maine Fresh Cut Fries. The food - Ahhhmazing!! From the perfectly breaded chicken with the crisp ends to to the melt in your mouth scallops to the fries that out beat any fries I have ever had. Add in the complimentary dessert - a brownie with chocolate chunks that when heated made an extra layer of ooey gooey yumminess - and we were in food heaven. Plus, I placed the order online, which was extremely user friendly and efficient. ... So if you are in the area as a visitor or local may I recommend you stop by Jack Russell's. You won't be disappointed!!

We found this restaurant because it was located 2 doors down from the Acadia Inn which we were staying. It is a quaint little restaurant. Our hostess and server were both friendly and pleasant. Although it is a steakhouse, there are plenty of seafood entries on the menu. I choose the lazy lobster which was delicious and my wife had the rib eye which was both large and cooked to her liking. It was delicious as I had to help her finish it. The beer that they brew was very good. I tried all 4. The blueberry ale was light and refreshing. The stout and brown ale were both full bodied and tasty. The pale ale was good but I am not a lover of hoppy beer. Overall, a great experience and I would highly recommend the Jack Russell if you are visiting Mt Desert Island. PS, I had to stop back the next day for another blueberry ale.

My aunt recommended we go here for the lobster and we were not disappointed! My mom and I had the crab cake appetizer and the lobster, both were fantastic! Definitely the best crab cake I've ever had and great first experience with lobster. Our waiter was great, he even gave us a list of places to visit on the island and showed us how to crack the lobster!
