What a funny restaurant name!

The place turned out to be a Szechwen place with elegant décor, which is not often found in honest restaurant.

With the many Szechwen places that had popped up in the recent years, most places are the usual greasy fare.  This place is relatively not greasy.

The signature numbing from Szechwen cuisine is proudly featured in many dishes.  My favorite was the spicy numbing cabbage, simple stir-fried cabbage with lots of numbing peppercorn and actually not too spicy hot.

The boiled fish fillet was equally numbing and again, not too spicy.  On another occasion, I had the dry fried spicy fish, but it was not numbing nor hot, still a nice garlicky flavor and tender fish.

In both occasions, I had the swamp cabbage with garlic which was stir-fried perfectly, and the cumin lamb was very delicious with strong cumin flavor.

I did not enjoy the pork filling of the spicy wonton, but I could not pin-point why.  The wrapping was soft.  The cold noodle was ok, not as garlicky spicy as Dough Zone’s, and the sesame sauce was not as roasty as Din Tai Fung’s.

The most disappointing dish was the honey walnut prawns.  I warned my friend not to order it because it was not a Szechwen dish.  The deep-fried prawns turned out to be soggy and soft, quite sub-par.

Came here for a quick lunch, mostly because it was on the way to where we needed to go. Ordered the orange chicken lunch, and the fish stir fry lunch, both with hot and sour soup. The soup was kind of bland but still reasonable. The lunch plates were both decent.

As close to what I can get from Xi'an! (A mix of Shaanxi and Sichuan). We stumbled upon this place when we saw our friend's check in on the opening day. As that night we were still deciding where to go, we thought to give it a try and head there. Since it is the opening day, it was fairly crowded. We were greeted by the owner and the servers were all very friendly. We ordered a few of our Sichuan favs to see how the taste goes. We got some cold dishes (chicken feet, mixed peppers and tofu, pickled cucumbers) that is really good and tasted like what I had in Xi'an. As for main dishes, we got the Chong Qing Chicken and Lamb Cumin. The two dishes were equally delicious too! The chicken had the right amount of spiciness and the you can actually taste the meat, not just the batter. The lamb cumin is flavorful and the meat is really tender. We were really impressed with this place and had been back 5 times now. One of our visit, we actually had the opportunity to taste their Spicy Crab Sichuan Style. The taste and flavor is very close to the one we had in Xi'an. This is definitely one of my top favorite spot for Sichuanese cuisine. We have yet a lot of dishes to try out and so far, all the times we've been here, we're never dissatisfied with the food!
