In Billings on business and heard about Mary’s from a friend
I have lived in England and grew up in the northeast so I have eaten my fair share of fish and chips and crab rolls. What a treat to get the real deal in Montana. Mary is spot on with a wonderful crisp coating on the fish and the crab roll was full of delicious crab and just the right amount of slaw and mayo.
Putting this place on my must go list when I am in Billings
My wife and I have decided to do a weekly date night this year (alternating who picks where). The goal is to have a nice night at a different place every time and hopefully find some real gems. This place qualifies. The fish is fried perfectly, not overcooked like 90% of the places do. The chowder is the best you'll ever have. The fish tacos were also awesome. Small place adds to the atmosphere. Only wish they had mushy peas. We'll be back for lunch since i can't do the same place for date night again this year. Also want to try the clams. Oh, and yes, she's crazy, but in a good crazy sort of way.
My husband Doug and myself had an Excellent lunch at Crazy Mary's yesterday. Fish tacos for myself and Catfish and fries for Doug. We even ordered an extra catfish to go, which we shared with MOM last night. It reheated in the oven nicely. All items are made fresh. Coleslaw was great. This place is really worth visiting. I can hardly wait to get back to Billings and try other menu items there.
And Mary?....she is a definite kick! We thoroughly loved her sense of humor and her love for cooking. It certainly is a place to stop to fill you stomach and YOUR SPIRIT with great food and laughter!!! Thanks Mary, we will be back!!!
This is the best fish and chips I have eaten since leaving Rhode Island 45 years ago. This is what fish and chips is supposed to be. Thick, crispy, not greasy, Mary is great. Entertaining also. Try the N.E. clam chowder, superb.
I can't get there enough! She keeps the fish and chicken separate so you never get the fishy chicken! And gluten free options as well. Nobody has an excuse for not checking it out. It's way more than fish and chips! Go!!! Now!!!
