We’re coming to you today near the end of the Six Gap trail, in Blairsville, with lunch at Jim’s Smokin Que.  This spot comes to us courtesy of a Trip Advisor ranking of barbecue joints from a couple of years back, in which they ranked fairly highly, nationally.  Being on Six Gap trail, there were plenty of motorcyles in the parking lot, even on a day when rain was coming.

Great barbecue. Totally enjoyed our lunch. My only dislike was the ordering process and lack of access to the inside of the restaurant when there is a long line. We got to the restaurant around noon and it was nearly impossible to get past the line to access the indoor seating. They need an ordering window that is separate from the entrance/exit.

Otherwise, the pulled pork was fantastic. Moist. Good smoke flavor. Brisket was also very good. I didn't try the ribs or chicken, but I was told they were very good. The sides are also plentiful and the family meal is enough for 6-8 hungry adults!

Not a big fan of the "gun" signs on the premises. Made me feel a little unsafe.

Best BBQ I have ever had.  We go there every time we are at our lake house.  The ribs are extraordinary, the turkey and brisket amazing.  Sauces and sides are to die for.  I take all my friends/visitors to Blairsville to Jim's.  Service is fast and friendly.  My only complaint is they are only open three days a week.  Worth the drive from Atlanta.  Rock on....
