California Pizza Kitchen

Went to this restaurant chain's Boulder location on a Sunday lunch. Perhaps it was the snowy/slushy day, but the restaurant was about 25% full, and the the three of us were seated immediately. Friendly wait staff took our order, but it took about 20-25 minutes for our food to reach the table. The food (lunch menu pizza x 2, sandwich, salads, etc.) was very delicious and the perfect portion, as we didn't need the full-on dinner-size portions. Prices were also reasonable. Also took home two, $5-dollar Take-And-Bake pizzas (lunch menu entrees are still counted as entrees), which is a great deal, considering most of the pizzas on the menu are $15-18 each. Plenty of parking in adjacent and nearby parking lots, although the spaces are shared with other businesses. Overall, a nice place for the family to eat and relax.

Quick pizza lunch with flair and style. Its great to see all of the support here in Boulder and California Pizza Kitchen has a light inviting atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and helpful with many suggestions. The lunch menu is very inclusive and reasonably priced. The bbq chicken pizza is a fun twist and is delivered piping hot. With the perfect ratio of sauce to cheese and a crust that frames the toppings masterfully it’s the choice I’d like to recommend.

Fantastic food and awesome staff, very nice atmosphere here. Today I ordered the Jerk Chicken pizza and a bianco flatbread appetizer. The bianco was amazingly fluffy and tasty with the whipped truffle cream and Gorgonzola cheese. Very natural and potent sage leaf on each slice. It's a wonderful appetizer, will definitely get it again next time. Now for the pizza. That was the best pizza I've had in a long time. Awesome flavor. I immediately loved the Caribbean sauce, just right amount of sweet and spicy flavor. The authentic Jamaican spices added tremendously to the flavors. The applewood smoked bacon speckled throughout the pizza gave a pleasant surprise smoky, crispy, and chewy flavor. As well, there are red onions, bell peppers, and scallions. This was a great decision to get this pizza. I even had leftovers. Excellent meal, will be back for more. Thanks to the CPK Boulder team.

Great experiences at other locations, but I had such a bad experience I thought I should warn others. Walked in with a party of 5 and a baby. Host, and staff did a terrible job. After being seated we order drinks from the bar and food. Our drinks came out about 20 minutes late, and it was apparent that they had been sitting at the bar for a good while. Our food came out 40min-1hour after ordering. One of the meals came missing the sauce (noodles) so they brought out a shrimp Alfredo with no sauce. We let them know, it gets remade. One minute after receiving the correct dish the host comes and ask if we need a to-go box, essentially kicking us out (her demeanor). The person who appeared to be in charge was not wearing uniform and sagging his pants. I used the restroom and a food employee walks out of a stall and doesn’t wash his hands. Overall very bad experience tonight. When I arrived to the restaurant they were very staffed and not very busy. Employees seemed very stressed, uneasy, and really everyone was running around like a chicken with their head cut off. For the price we expected much better service.
