Sakura Express Japanese Bristol

Love it!. If you want some Japanese food in Bristol, Sakura definitely is the best choice. They have high quality food and cheapest price among Japanese restaurants. Their Sesame Chicken or Orange Chicken only $5.25 per meal. And also come with fried rice, an egg roll. and 2 shrimp sauces. Their shrimp or scollop meal only $7.95 per meal. And they use jumbo shrimp and scollop. And their sushi is cheap, too. Most of sushi roll only $3.99 for 8 pcs. You must try Sakura!

Very pleasantly surprised. I was blown away by how good and fresh their sushi is. You can't go wrong here. It's harder to find more reasonably-priced sushi, even at the grocery store. I usually get the Philadelphia roll and Spicy Tuna. Their seaweed salad is good, too. They serve it on a bed of iceberg (wish it was romaine and nutritious) with a side of shrimp sauce. As for their fried rice entrees, those are as good as any you will have. The atmosphere is not romantic and it is sort of dingy, but atmosphere is not what you're paying for. You order and pick up at the cash register. Even if you dine in they will serve you in Styrofoam (which is one complaint I have because it is bad for the environment.) If you pick up your order inside, grab your own napkins, soy sauce, and silverware because they expect you to unless you go through the drive thru. So I recommend call ahead, get the food to go and then go have a picnic in nearby Steele Creek Park.

Fresh food-lacking atmosphere. This is located on State Street's old Wendy's location. They have painted is baby blue and a pastel yellow (not very Oriental) with some red/orange paper lanterns). The atmosphere is not real Asian, but the food is good, fresh, fast and inexpensive. I ordered the Sesame Chicken. It came with a nice amount of simple fried rice, a fruit sup of watermelon, some shrimp sauce that is meant to be poured on your rice (tasted vaguely like thousand island dressing). The chicken was nice white meat, in a sweet brown and sesame sauce, freshly prepared and delivered to my table within minutes of ordering at the front. The drive thru didn't stop the whole time I was there. Its apparently a very busy place, as the phone kept ringing, people were coming, eating and going and do the drive thru. I price was right at $4.99 for the Sesame Chicken. My date got the Hibachi Chicken and Steak and he loved it. I also ordered two spring rolls for $1.50 and there was no hot mustard, but a spicy sauce instead. They spring rolls were a little greasy, but good. All in all, I would go again, but maybe for lunch, instead of a Saturday night date. The atmosphere is the only reason I wouldn't. The country music blaring in there didn't make it feel very authentic, but the food was good, fresh and hot. Try it, you'll like it!
