Yes, yes, and more yes.
THE PLACE: Stopped by this spot on a Saturday afternoon around 1:30p for brunch! My friend & I were seated right away in one of the booths which was adorable and cool. Fresh flowers, glass bottle of water for the table, tons of natural light from a huge row of big windows at the front of the restaurant, some music playing, general average loudness of brunch. All around great vibe and ambience.
THE FOOD!: Sheesh. Our server RACHEL :) was super knowledgable of the menu and gave us some excellent suggestions. We started out with "flat white" latte's and 2 buttermilk biscuits (huge, delicious, so good) which came with jam & butter. I ordered a side of the sausage gravy for my biscuit, which came out piping hot and deliciously rich and spicy. (There was so much biscuit and gravy that I took half of it home). We also each ordered a bourbon cocktail called "pancakes and syrup" which was insane- really strong, really delicious, and came out with a maple glazed piece of bacon in it. SO good. Next up was the grapefruit brulee- grilled to perfection with sugar and blueberries, and expertly cut for easy dining... this was a MUST order. My friend and I split it which was plenty. As if all that wasn't enough, we decided to also each order a brunch entree. I ordered the chilaquiles and my friend ordered the catfish po boy. Both were really flavorful, plated beautifully, and got absolutely crushed. hah! The chilaquiles were different from other kinds I have had- it came with salsa verde and pice de gallo which was a new experience for me (used salsa roja). Delicious! Also had black beans, pulled pork, and 2 sunny side up eggs. Our server Rachel cracked fresh black pepper over my plate and made it perfect. The po bo had fried catfish, slaw, lettuce some type of aioli on it, on some great bread. Really hearty and came with fries.

I feel so lucky to have Putnam's right at the corner. I've never loved a neighborhood restaurant quite like this. The menu is diverse, the food is always good, the service is always good, and the more you visit Putnam's, the more the staff, management and owners get to know you.
If you have friends from out of town, bring them here.

I've been waiting 6 months to have their shepherd's pie—it's to die for! Well worth the wait, I say! And don't even get me started on their cinnamon apple cider... Served hot, you'd think you had died and gone to Irish heaven. At least, I thought I did.
