You know the difference between being satisfied with your meal and being like "Holy crap, this is the best meal I've had in a LONG time!" Well, Shade Tree is like the latter and will make you want to dial your momma to tell her how good the food is. I had the catfish bites and a cup of corn and crab bisque. The catfish bites were fried to perfection with a homemade batter. It came with some tartar that Im pretty sure was homemade as well, because, I kid you not, even the tartar was the best I have ever had. The corn and crab bisque was out of this world, and sadly, the human language doesn't have adequate words to describe the incredible flavor. Creamy, seasoned, an equal ratio of corn to crab, and truly succulent. Chef Lonnie made a point to chat with us while we ordered and made us feel right at home. Nothing beats feeling welcome and appreciated. If you're lucky enough to visit a beautiful day like we did, you'll appreciate the beautiful outdoor seating even more. But trust me, people come here every day, even in the pouring rain!

We started with the eggplant fries with marinara - wow - they are a good size portion so we didn’t finish them so we would have room for our meals. My husband had the soft shell crab poboy - the crab was large nicely fried and there was nothing left except fries. I had the chili shrimp wrapped in a spinach wrap with Asian flavors - it was delicious. Go try it!!!! They let us bring our dogs and then Chef Lonnie came out with bacon for them.

This place was amazing....from the gorgeous trees, to the BYOB, the friendly staff, the WONDERFUL food, and the chef even came to talk to us at the end of the night! We brought blankets and the kids played all around us. Super casual and highly recommend! Hidden gem in Broussard.
