This is my favorite place in Harvard Square on a hot summer day. Have one spoonful and you know this is the best froyo in town. It is fresh, rich and the flavors on offer are constantly changing.

Could be great - with minor changes.. BerryLine is an excellent idea - produce soft serve yogurt and offer cut fruit, berries and other toppings. The fruit is fresh and very good quality. Unfortunately the yogurt is non-fat. As any food scientist, or chef will tell you, even a small addition of fat makes a huge difference in the intensity of flavors, and also mouthfeel. Since it is non-fat BerryLine's yogurt has very little taste and fails to really meld with the toppings. A low-fat yogurt option would be a huge improvement. Secondly, the banana yogurt tasted more of unripe green banana than of properly ripened banana - this was a minor spoiler for the otherwise excellent fruit. Berryline's product is quite expensive ($3.75 and up with toppings), but you may decide it is worth it for the quality of the fruit. Overall, the yogurt is never more than blah.

Note: in subsequent visits I have noticed that the yogurt base is never all that good. Flavors are weak, sometimes chalky and just overall lack pleasurable elements.

Growing up, I ate a lot of frozen yogurt especially since I used to work at a froyo store. I know a good yogurt when I eat one, and Berryline certainly serves delicious frozen yogurt! Berryline rotates flavors about once every two weeks, but the "original" flavor, which is fresh and tarty, is always available. This is a small size cup of honey-lavender frozen yogurt with blackberries and honey. So refreshing, even when it's snowing outside! I personally don't like ice cream because it is too rich, so froyo is the way to go for me :)
