Salvatore's New York Style Pizza Cape Coral

This is real pizza & real people. I read the other reviews for this restaurant and I agree with the first 2, but. I have to vigorously disagree with the poster who said they were "frauds" and his complaints about the crust, the sauce , the cheese etc and at the same time went on and on about their supposed experience. Tommy and his sister & their dad do hail from Brooklyn from the heart of Little Italy. I've eaten there 5 times since they took over this pizzeria a few months ago and I used to go to his restaurant over in Fort Myers. Twice I've had pies, and the other 3 times Tom has made me a calzone with pepperoni, both olives, banana peppers, mozzarella, and onion..it was to die for, the crust ~ the right amount of crisp to chewy and it was so very tasty. I know that Tom makes his dough on premise, hand stretches each pie, makes his meatballs, his sauce, his dessert using his family's recipes. In an age of homogeneous chain restaurants where more and more items of the menu are pre-made and shipped in, its refreshing to find people who love pizza, who care about putting out a good pie and have the personality that brings you back... Eat in is a cozy feel, with New York emblazoned and enshrined on the walls, and Sicily the ancestral home of this family enshrined on the other. It's not fancy, its sure has the feel of those hole in the wall pizza places that adorn New York, except you find it in Cape Coral on the South Florida Gulf Coast. I love it, they make you feel like family. Come hungry because when you leave you will be full and happy. I love to find a great small local owned business in this age of the chain, its the local taste and flavor you can't package that. Its still part of the American dream: Cook it and they will come.

Best Pizza Ever!. Salvatore's (formerly on College Parkway in Fort Myers) has the most authentic Brooklyn style pizza south of New York! Light, flaky crust made by hand every day, superior sauce and perfect amount of cheese takes me back to the quality pizza I remember growing up in the northeast. Don't miss out on the best pizza in SWFL!!
