Had the fish burrito, was delicious. My lovely wife had the bbq chicken salad and enjoyed it. We ordered hand cut fries too. Everything was tasty
One of the best country fried steaks I have had in a long time. Worth checking out
What a great place for brunch. This is the second time we’ve tried this place and both times we waited for a little bit in a fairly fast moving line to place our order at the counter. Once we placed our order we found an open table. They have a decent amount of both indoor and outdoor seating. It wasn’t long before our food was delivered to our table piping hot. The food is outstanding. The eggs, toast, hash browns and the star on the plate, the country fried steak were all so, so good! We highly recommend this quaint little spot.
We came here during brunch time. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with fries. Unfortunately, the chicken was bland and it did need more salt. The brioche bread got soggy from the coleslaw which also tasted bland. The fries were seasoned well but were burnt. The waitress did bring us a brand new order of fries which tasted good.
However their breakfast is good and they have a delicious chocolate chip cookie with macadamia nuts and coconut. I highly recommend.
Good food, but pricey.
For the area, it’s probably the norm.
I’ll splurge every now and then to try a new place. Delicious decaf latte. I upgraded the pancakes. This meal was $23 plus $5 tip.
Great breakfast. Nice atmosphere
We were looking up great breakfast places in Carlsbad and this little corner restaurant came up. Topes has a walk up order counter but don’t let that discourage you from trying it! Food is really good and fresh and the coffee drinks are beautiful and tasty. It gets pretty busy on weekends and there is limited indoor seating as well as outdoor. They do being the food to the table and they have beer for those wanting a little cheer with their breakfast!
