I have been going to Tommy Vs since 2010 and while like any restaurant it's had it's up and downs, the food and service is always good. Melissa's recently hired a Chef from Sicily and they have created a unique concept and menu that might just be the best Italian restaurant in San Diego. We love it there.
Tommy V's is one of our favorite places to eat in No.Cnty. My husband always tells me not to get the salad since I never like them but Tommy V's food is much much better and I love their salads and pizza. Hubby likes everything including the brie cheese and granny apples. We had excellent service, a great dining experience and the owner, Melissa, is terrific!! I encourage you to dine there. It was a very busy Valentine's evening, and I had reserved a table through Open Table for 5:15 pm. The place was packed already.
Nonetheless, our waiter did his job magnificently and professionally. Two thumbs up.
Update, I went back, and the food was really good. The gnocchi was excellent. I would recommend giving them a try.
Durring the first visit the smoked chicken rigatoni had one of the best sauces I have ever eaten. The first bite was awesome, unfortunately the chicken was really tough, and the bread was stale. I may go back, the recipes were good I think I just went on an off night.
The food was very good. We totally enjoyed it. Before the meal, a waiter came in with the bread basket and plopped it on top of the menu my friend was looking at. I thought that was rude. He didn't say sorry at all even when he realized what he'd done.
Even if you're known for great food, the attitude of your staff says a great deal about your business.
Everything was great!!! There was live music playing. We sat outside on the patio. Great service, great food!
My family and I have eaten here many times over the years and the food and drinks are always amazing. The service is also friendly and attentive from Francisco and his team, and they are so accommodating to our 2 young girls. My favorite dishes are the mushroom pizza and artichoke, but everything else we have tried, whether it’s the pasta dishes, seafood, burger, or appetizers, are fantastic as well. This is an awesome place and our family will always come here for a great dining experience!
Fun Bressi Ranch neighborhood restaurant! My short rib dinner was delicious and the presentation was lovely! We split a Caesar Salad and the restaurant split it onto two dishes. The server was efficient.
