We went to Benihana"s using their generous birthday coupon which gives the bearer $30 off a teppan meal. It's a great deal because most of their meals are five or six courses for under $30. I had the hibachi scallops which were delicious, if a bit smaller than those I had for my birthday last year. The other courses were a salad with really good dressing, their signature onion soup, a shrimp appetizer, and grilled onions, peppers, and squash slices. We added on extras like extra scallops for $11, mushrooms for less than $5, and spicy rice instead of the white rice that comes with the meal. They also served their signature dipping sauces. As the birthday girl, they also brought me chocolate ice cream with whipped cream and a lit candle, accompanied by the staff singing happy birthday to me. I did not mention the artistry with knives performed by the chef tableside because we sat on the patio to improve social distancing. Normally though, I have eaten inside where the entire meal is prepared right in front of you. The chef is talented with knives and it is very entertaining for the whole family. Little ones that normally fidgit through restaurant meals will find the chef very engaging.

Food was DELICIOUS! Chef was awesome.. really friendly, chatty and fun! Host at the beginning wasn't great, she left us sat in the front for 15 minutes even though we had made a booking and arrived on time, didn't offer us a drink at the bar like she did to people who came in after us. Our waiter was a bit inexperienced also, not knowing what multiple drinks were. Had to ask 2 waiters for soy sauce to eat my sushi. Happy hour is also misleading and not very clear on where it is available within the establishment. I would highly recommend for the food only, service needs improvement especially for the prices you pay.
