Went here for the first time today. Decided to go the unconventional route for a menu item and I ordered the smoked cauliflower taco. OMG outstanding!! I'm not vegan but this was one of the best tacos I've eaten in awhile. I ordered the cold brew coffee which was very good as well. They also have pour over coffee which I will try on my next visit. The physical space is small but the food I had today is BIG on flavor. Looking forward to trying other menu items on my next visit!
When I was a Young Ladd in Vancouver WA, There was this place "Joe Browns" they had these epic biscuits best I ever had at the time. After 20 years of looking for another biscuit and gravey like theirs I have now found it. Light works in matter of fact took old Joe out. they made his look like Childs play. I cried the first time I ate them. I must have looked like a grade A nut job. Huge props to the works of light. two thumbs up. 5 star status and my hands down fav place in Iowa to eat. I brag daily about them to all I meet and see. I will be in all the time when time permits.
Stopped in for the first time this morning. Had the house-smoked, carnitas-style pork hash. So tender and juicy. It came with spicy, crispy home fries (you can ask them to adjust the spice) topped with two sunny-side-up eggs. With a latte and lemon water, it was a great way to start a Saturday. Next time, it'll be the fresh-daily beignets! Thanks, Lightworks, for food and drink that have such give-a-damn behind them. It shows.
Yummy flavors and inviting interior. Vanilla latte and dirty chai were wonderful and my kale Caesar was delicious. Shared French fries and beignets with my girls and they are "to die for"!
So, A, I'm now addicted to their lavender lattes, thanks to a recommendation from Stephanie. And, B, speaking of the people of Lightworks, they're fabulous. And, C, the food. Yum. A simple yet varied menu. Veg- & gluten-free friendly.
Wow the food was sooo good. I got the weekly special which was a BLT sandwich and it was everything I’d want in a BLT. My husband tried the fried chicken sandwich and it was delicious. I believe the buns are homemade and you can tell. They’re so light and full of flavor. We also tried the beignets and they were very yummy to! Will be back again and again 😍

Excellent coffe (they usually even have at least two types of espresso), beautiful tableware, kind service, and excellent food. Their biscuits and gravy in particular I would hold up against my own mother's (sorry mom).
Hands down the best cafe in town. Everything is made from scratch and is so fresh. I always end up ordering several plates including a side of fruit because the meals are so delicious. Be prepared for a lunch rush around noon. We waited for over 30 minutes for our found and it was entirely worth it. The beignets are incredible - wear white so you don't show the powder sugar! I think about stopping in for something to go daily... But I probably go in about once every other week. I would go in more if I lived closer to downtown. Also it's an excellent place to go to before or after a visit to the library. Lightworks has lots of choices no matter your dietary requirements. Yum!
Holy moly. Been in Cedar for 1 month now and we have found one of the best places here. Clean crisp and bags of flavour. I had the breakfast sandwich with sausage, with their homemade chili sauce. Oh and a pork taco on corn. It was fantastic. Will be back. Love it.
Great chill cafe with a wide range of food and drink options, and plenty of choice for vegetarians/vegans. Downtempo music, friendly staff, quick service and great food.
My wife had the vegetable hash, I opted for the biscuits and sausage gravy, and yogurt and house granola. Everything was delicious in their own unique ways. The chai tea had a good cinnamon spice to it too.
The unisex bathroom had a large changing table a big plus for our baby. Only downside I saw was a lack of a bike rack.
