Where to begin… some people care about the aesthetics, some the level of care… most the quality of food. Me, first and foremost, I care about how I feel, the energy of an establishment. Fernando runs an absolutely beautiful eatery. Before you even walk in you’re greeted with a smokey hint of goodness… upon entering you’re greeted with an open kitchen concept with disciplined precision and a low, constant crosstalk that’s music to the ears of someone looking for an extremely executed experience. The hostesses are delightful, warm, and always smiling. The waitstaff, expertly versed in their dishes (Jeremy is our favorite but of the handful of others we’ve had, there’s never been a single complaint). The food… I mean if pictures had scents… we’d all look really funny holding a phone to our noses but you’re going to have to settle for my mediocre cell phone pics until you go and experience the culinary delights of locally sourced goodness. I have my favorites, the burrata, (changing seasonally) the meatballs, and the tomato bisque (absolute staple) are always first to be ordered then I usually leave it up to our waiter/waitress to choose a meal for me (not one time have I been disappointed or left wanting more). Roosters of South Park, thank you for a repeat performance time and time again.

Loved my experience at Rooster’s Wood-Fired Kitchen in SouthPark in Charlotte, North Carolina. The ambience in space was good. They had very high ceilings with an industrial feel. There were booths and tables. Even though the place was packed, you could still have a conversation. They also dimmed the lights at around 730. Definitely good for a date night. The service was spectacular. Our server Tim and the team were extremely accommodating, swift, friendly and knowledgeable. The place is not cheap. They have a daily menu as well as wines by the glass and bottle. They had a pretty extensive list of wines by the glass. Most of the glasses of wine were between $14 and $20. They also made an amazing dirty martini and they had blue cheese olives which were very, very good. The bread they give you when you sit down was delicious. Had an amazing crust with great texture and taste. It comes with olive oil to dip it in. They have a daily menu which has a ton of options. We started with the burrata! Was a nice size portion with arugula and tomato. Of course I asked for extra bread! The reduction on it was fire! I went with the short rib and the fries. The short rib was absolutely delicious. Cooked perfectly with this amazing glaze. He wasn’t kidding when he said the portion of fries was huge. They were very well seasoned and crispy. Just the way I like it. My friend had the scallops. They were small which we expected and were $33. She really liked them but was hungry. Will definitely go back. I may try the Uptown location next.
