Umai Sushi & Asian Bistro Charlotte

This is absolutely my go-to sushi place from now on. The sushi is great quality and is always beautifully and delicately presented, and I am absolutely obsessed with how delicious the crispy bagel roll is. If I never went anywhere else for sushi but here, I'd be happy!

We loved it and will be back soon! The staff and Chef John were Awesome! I called a few Sushi Restaurants yesterday, inquiring about serving hamachi kama and no one was serving it. I was pretty disappointed to hear, then I called Umai. John answered the phone and was very polite explaining they don't serve hamachi kama on a regular basis, because they want to make sure they serve their customer's the freshest fish. He then said when was I thinking about dining there, I said tonight. He then proceeded to say they would prepare it and I immediately made a reservation. He asked how we like it prepared, they can either grill or deep fry. I said we like it grilled, he too agreed that was a great way to have it. My BF and I were really excited about our Sushi Date Night and trying a new restaurant. The Staff was very friendly and Chef gave a recommendation on the sauce for the hamachi kama, which was also yummy! The attention to detail and presentation of the food was amazing, price point very reasonable. Everything we had was wonderful and very fresh. Before we left we thanked the Chef, and he said if we want anything special prepared just call ahead. We have been in Charlotte almost a year, we moved here from AZ/NV almost a year ago and haven't found "the place" to have awesome sushi....Now we have and looking forward to going back! ������
