THE BEST Soft Serve in Ohio. Period!. If you're not eating pie then the only way you should be eating ice cream is soft serve, and you won't find it any better than at Sweets N Eat's, which is actually in Delhi (but Urbanspoon doesn't have a listing for Delhi). They always have the standard - Chocolate, Vanilla, and Twist, and the old tyme favorite - Orange Sherbet, Vanilla, and Twist (like an Orangesicle). What makes Sweets N Eats stand out is everything else they have to offer. Sure you can get bottled drinks and candy, but they have so much more, such as:
A RIDICULOUS number of shaved ice (Sno-Ice, Snowballs, etc) flavors (I think they have over 50 now)
GREAT milkshakes (beats the hell out of UDF. Get the peanut butter w/ chocolate milk. It's like a Reese's cup)
Blizzards (which I haven't had but heard they are great)
Sundays - turtle, brownie, fudge, etc. All will make you melt and want to sleep. All are gooey, warm and cold goodness.
Face Cones, which sounds weird but they are perfect for kids. It's a cone with candy pieces cleverly placed to look like a funny face. Kids love it and you'll find that almost all off them will eat the candy pieces in a specific order.
All the toppings you could want (nuts, candy bar pieces, Jimmies [sprinkles], chocolate coating, warm fudge, whipped cream, etc)
Banana Splits - an American favorite done just right
Frozen Yogurt - selection varies and they are all great.
And....wait for it......Blue Ice Cream! That's right, Sweets n Eats is the only place outside of Kings Island to get Blue Ice Cream (get it as a twist to make "smurf" ice cream). Karl took a while to get the mixture right, but he has had it down to a T for years now and you can't tell the difference from Kings Island. Other places are trying to do the same, but they can't get it right. Sweets N Eats is the ONLY place to get it right every time. Once Kings Island opens for the season then they are able to get the Blue Ice Cream again.
Sweets N Eats was always around when I was growing up, then the owner died and the place was closed for a few years. Then his son decided to reopen the place and he's been doing great ever since. Karl is always trying out new flavors to see what people think of them and during the warm months he keeps the place open late to cater to the crowds. He really knows how to run the place and this is another west side staple that I hope never goes away. Don't be surprised to show up at 11pm and find a line (which always moves quickly thanks to the good staff). People love this place and after trying it I have no doubt that you will as well. Enjoy.
Fun little local ice cream shop. Order at the window, some outdoor seating, no wifi. The atmosphere is really young and they had a decent line to wait in with a bunch of kids with their parental units. Quick to order and receive orders. Got the hot fudge brownie sundae, which was a great value and delicious.
