Went to celebrate my birthday. Use to live in the area and always enjoyed the Clinton house. The food is still good. But on a hot June day not to have a/c ruined the whole dinner. There were no fans , no portable a/c units . We were told it has been that way since November.. Not a way to treat customers that paid $400. For a meal

My sister took me to The Clinton House for dinner last night. She wanted me to try the food for my birthday. We had to drive almost 90 minutes to get there. I doubted it would be worth the drive. I was wrong! It was fabulous! Our server was a delight. He was so friendly and attentive. I ordered the Beef Wellington. I have not had that particular dish in years because it tends to be hard to find. Loved it!! Added a side of the Mashed Potatoes. They were also very delicious. The whole experience was delightful and I'm now plotting how to talk my husband into making the 90 minute trip(each way) for our anniversary dinner. I have 3 months. I'm working on it.

First off, the food was phenomenal. My group of 5 were blown away. The mussels were so soft and melted like butter, the sauce they came in was amazing. The lump crab and avocado was equally amazing, as was the East Coast oysters and clams casino. The desserts were amazing and well worth the calories. Our server David was excellent, pleasant and attentive. This only cons were the hostess, who was immediately irritable when we walked in and said we didn't have a reservation. It was only 430pm and the place was virtually empty. Clearly we got a table without effort but the initial interaction with her was a bit off-putting and we were glad everything improved from that point on. Lastly, a lot of our silverware, plates, and glasses were initially dirty with dried food still left on them from the dishwasher... I would still return as the menu items were amazing. We ate at fancy NYC restaurant the following night which was great, but we all agreed the Clinton House was the better meal.

OWNER RESPONSE refused to take responsibility for terrible meal. SPARE YOUR WALLET AND STOMACHS .....A beautiful atmosphere ruined by a careless and unacceptably terrible kitchen. A remarkably bland, uncreative, and highly disappointing dining experience. The head "chef" has managed to take what few fresh ingredients they receive and dress them down in a slurry of frozen vegetables and distasteful gravies. One glass of chianti was clearly re-corked and weeks old, yet still served. Only thing saving the place is its gracious wait staff, who seemed pre-poised to apologize for the terrible food. Pictured: cheesecake dessert, served up with a slice of red onion Additional - last two reviews feature same photos and were clearly produced by the restaurant.

The best restaurant in Clinton, New Jersey. Beautiful and old construction where you can enjoy a warm fireplace, with incomparable service and delicious dishes. I loved the french onion soup, portobello fried and raspberry tart.

The Clinton House is the perfect place to enjoying good company, delicious food and a great and friendly service. The environment en warm and relaxing, the ambient music is soft allowing conversation. The appetizer, a portobello fried was perfectly cooked and very tasty. The main dish, a roasted duck was moist and well seasoned, the sweet potato purée was very well balanced and a good match for the duck. Finally, the desert, a raspberry tart was the golden ribbon, a good balance between the raspberry acidity the cream and ice cream that brought memories for grandma cooking. The wine selection was good to pair these dishes. A historic place for a excellent lunch and an unforgettable good time!!

I went here for a family birthday dinner and the service and food was top-notch. The atmosphere was pleasant, offering historic decor but not run-down and well maintained. Apparently my grandmother (for whom we were celebrating) and my dearly departed grandfather used to come here for dinner and I can see why if the food was this good back then! Overall I enjoyed my dinner (and family) and would recommend anyone in the area to dine in should they get the chance.

Fire the manager. I never had such a horrible experience today’s date: November 14, 2021. No one needs to spend an hour for two French dip sandwiches that we never received as the waitress that has only have a few customers (6) do not know where the food goes for a table whom was waiting for close to 1.5 hours. The waitresses shrug their shoulders saying “I don’t know which table this belongs to” the waitress leave the food siiting for 15 minutes and doesnt even care which table it belongs to. My husband and I witness this as we have waited and have asked the young female bartender twice nicely about our food. A older guys comes from the back to apologize. The younger waitress tall long dark hair ponytail gives me massive attitude. I realize no one knows what they are doing. I request a check and say I want to leave. The hostess runs towards me and I repeat I’m leaving. We traveled from New Hope to this historic restaurant clearly the owners should know they need to fire everyone. I normally write only positive reviews I writing this so the owners can salvage this historic establishment.
