The last time I came to Tlaquepaque was nearly threes years ago, the night before I moved away from a brief time living in Colorado. I was SO sad I had only discovered it then because it is absolutely the best Mexican food you can get. Fast forward to the present and we stopped in on a Sunday evening while on vacation. The cashier was friendly and helpful in taking our order! We ordered the Birria tacos with consume and pork tamales. The food came out quickly and was hot and phenomenal. Stop in with an empty stomach!

I was pleasantly surprised at how lovely the inside of this little restaurant was! The food was DELICIOUS and came out quickly. Probably the best puerco con chile verde I've ever had. The dining room was so brightly colored and comfortable, reminding me of some restaurants in the coastal parts of Mexico. This seems to be a hot-spot for families to visit too. This doesn't have a lot to do with anything, but I'm always impressed by a nice bathroom, which reflected the same bright, happy environment in the dining area. I'll definitely be back! :D

We went to 'Tlapuepaque'! I may not be able to pronounce the name of this place right, but I will definitely be back for more of this excellent Mexican food! They had friendly staff, a clean dining area and really great prices. We tried the fried jalapenos stuffed with flavorful melt-in-your-mouth shredded pork, fresh ceviche with warm corn chips and avocado, and a truly epic chimichanga and then washed it down with Tamarindo and Horchata-flavored drinks. Everything was authentic, fresh-tasting and made with care.
