Hunan Lion Gourmet Chinese Columbus

I have been to a fair share of sketchy Asian restaurants, and given its strip mall location, I thought that's what this was. Turns out that the place looks awesome on the inside. It's very well decorated, dimly lit for privacy, but not too dark. I went to the bathroom and I immediately jumped back out to make sure I went in the right door. The men's room was super clean, and the counters had all kinds of soaps, lotions, and even hair mousse?

It can get a little pricey if you're going all out. It was for the wife's birthday, so we got drinks (of which they have a small but great selection of), and started with an appetizer sampler that had a bit of everything in it. If you don't get that, at least get the dumplings or their crab rangoons because they are some of the best I've had.

My wife got duck, of which they have a dedicated portion of the menu to. There's only one other place near us in Hilliard that has ever made it and her like it until now, and this place (I'm told) is WAY better and she got more for less than the other place.

I got the fried rice dinner. I'm usually pretty picky so I took a chance. I'm used to just chicken fried rice, but their version had chicken, beef, pork, and shrimp in it. I picked a few pretty larges pieces of some type of vegetable out, but that's just me being picky, the meal was fantastic, and everything tasted fresh.

We will DEFINITELY be back, and probably will start bringing some friend with us. You won't be disappointed. When you're done, you're about 5min or less from Cinemark as well, so a great place to go before a movie!

Delicious. My family and I have been loyal patrons of Hunan Lion for several years now, and the food taste just as good today as it did 5 years ago when we first tried it. Hunan Lion is certainly our favorite Local Chinese restaurants. The staff is always professional, and the dinning room is well kept and always clean. And of course the food is always amazing, the flavor are always consistent. My family and I will certainly visiting there again.
