Mikel May's Beachside Bar And Grill Corpus Christi

This was just by chance I found this little great place! I was down for my birthday weekend getaway and I noticed the pier down the beach! Decided to try to explore and find it. Found the pier and the bar and grill. Walked in sat at the bar with a very friendly, knowledgeable and pretty bartender, later I found her name was Brandi! She took exacellent care of me! Oyster on the half shell, and fried fish and shrimp. Both prepared and cooked to perfection! I highly recommend this place to anyone near or far! Will be make it back there soon!

Drinks in point love the $5 drink of the day, never have a problem with staff and food is always good!! If you don’t go, you are missing out!! Great view and always a nice breeze flowing through to keep you cool during the hot summer days!! Too 5 places in the costal bend!

My boyfriend & I were SO pleasantly surprised on our visit here weekend before last! I needed some sunshine & hoped to eat somewhere on the water. Unfortunately, I've never been very impressed with the small selection of options on the water in our area, but we thought we'd give Mikel May's a try. Oh. My. Goodness! We were so glad we did! It's a very unassuming place, nothing fancy, very casual & laidback, which I find very fitting right on the water. When we asked the hostess if we could sit outside to eat, she responded by pressing a button to open the wall next to us. Next thing you know we're sitting side by side, facing the ocean. My love next to me & the ocean before me=Heaven on earth. � But it got better! I ordered the Ahi tuna tacos, which were pretty good, but my boyfriend's chicken fried steak...for the love of all things holy, that was something to write home about! This was no paperthin little sliver of meat, no tenderized chopped steak with too much breading falling away from a shrunken piece of beef. No, this was an actual steak...a tender, juicy, melt in your mouth, don't ever want it to end steak, breaded & cooked to perfection! & I'm not a chicken fried steak person! � Even the mashed potatoes were flavorful, & the delicious zucchini was cooked to the exact right tender-crisp state. Before leaving, my boyfriend & I asked the sweet waitress to let the chef know it was, hands down, the best chicken fried steak he'd ever had, & when my love offered me the last few bites, you can bet I wasn't shy! � Like I said, we were so pleasantly surprised, prices for what we had were very reasonable, & we definitely plan to be back & bring our friends. Here's hoping for continued success & consistency...we all know consistency is the key when it comes to a good restaurant! Keep up the great work, y'all! & thanks for such a pleasant experience! �
