This Joe's Crabshack in Corpus was great! (Houston's, not so much). Our food was delicious and very generous portions. Our server was on her game, as well. We'd come back!
Unlike it's sister resturant, this location does not have the view and thus not the "tourist" trap feeling as the other location. The food is good, and we enjoyed the seafood combo plate with bake potaoe. It sometimes get's very loud here, so be mindful if you plan on doing business with a customer over lunch.

Joe's Crab Shack - SPID. Another spring break weekend found us in CC again with some friends. Realizing I had never reviewed the other Joe's Crab Shack in CC on SPID, this was an excellent evening to do so.
Yes, Joe's is a national chain, but each location has an atmosphere attuned to the local area. This location had a slightly different vibe than the Lighthouse where we normally dine, with the food and service still being very good.
With six of us dining, we devoured some food. We started with a Bucket of Shrimp (18 ready to peel), Big Easy Bites (fried crawfish, shrimp, and pickles) and Crab Nachos (crab dip piled on tortilla chips covered with pico de gallo, black bean corn relish, Monterey Jack cheese and avocado lime sauce). Of course, there was some beer, too. The appetizers here are very good, and can easily be a whole meal for some.
My partner and I split a Bean Town Bake since we had never ordered this steampot before. It has two lobsters, one pound of clams, with shrimp and smoked sausage, and is served with corn and potatoes on the side. Kinda pricey, but split by two, it is reasonable.
Our friends ordered the Surf N Turf Burger, Chicken Club, Popcorn Shrimp, and Homestyle Chicken Tenders. Everyone had good food and a good time.
We can always rely on Joe!. We've been to Joe's on the seawall a few times and we always had a good dining experience. So, we decided to try a new place in the area. We went to 2 different places and we weren't served for one reason for another, so we left and decided to give this Joe a try and we got prompt service and the food was good. Thanks Joe for saving us from starvation!

Good Food & Service. We have eaten at the SPID Joe's several times and EVERY time we go the service is exceptional and the food outstanding. People have a tendency to denigrate the chains but Joe's is a good place to eat. My wife likes the fried shrimp - the quality and quantity are very good. I usually eat the fish and chips and the portion size is generous. Our food was piping hot, drinks ice cold, and the servers seemed to like what they do. We have been there for my oldest son's 17th birthday, my birthday, and my wife and dined here for our anniversary
I don't know why Joe's is getting such bad reviews.
Maybe the reviewers are snobbish and don't appreciate large portions of hot, well prepared food. Perhaps they need a tiny square of undercooked salmon drizzled with remoulade sauce and two al dante green beans, and a sprig of parsley to be considered fine dining.
Fine dining for me is good food, served by a friendly, but not over-bearing, waitstaff at a reasonable price ($12-30 per entry) in a reasonable amount of time (30 minutes). If that's what you enjoy then try Joe's Crab Shack on SPID. I haven't eaten at the other Corpus Joe's.
Excellent. Really enjoyed the two visits in Jan. '09. The manager came out to talk to customers. An exceptional experience both times, what are the odds of that?
Me my wife and my sister-in-law were passing by checked the place, loved the interior and the service so stayed for lunch.
Lobster was excellent, lobster bisque was good salmon and the chicken breast were also good.
The place looks fabulous inside. The terrace outside was cozy.
Revive was very kind and fast.
You won’t get disappointed that is for sure.
This is not a 5* place but you can trust they do good food and serve you well. We had a very good time with my family there. Thank you!
Come to eat with 2 kids and our waitress Corinne was amazing! She was really great with the kids too. I have an allergy to gluten and she helped me find menu items I could eat, really going above and beyond! Would come back more if I wasn’t just visiting from out of town!
My family is from Pennsylvania and came here for a visit! We stopped into Joes and we had Lexzi as our waitress! She was the most sweetest and kindest waitress we ever had! Our food came out so quick and it was delicious! We got the king classic, honey Dijon salmon, and the coconut shrimp and everything was great! Thank you so much Lexzi for great hospitality & service!
Food was super yummy, the waitress we had was SUPER sweet. It was my first time there, and she let me know all the best foods to get! Will be back to eat! I got the category 5 hurricane drink, would recommend getting it if you like RUM and want to get a buzz haha!
We decided to eat here on Thanksgiving while visiting Corpus Christi over the holiday. All of the staff was so friendly and the restaurant was very clean!! Our food was tasty, but prices are up everywhere. We spent $87 for two entrees, an appetizer, and 2 beers.
It's PLUS SIZE FRIENDLY! The chairs have no side arms great for the people who fear the booths or closed chairs like me! Relax and enjoy great food!!
I live in Austin but from Corpus and love to visit frequently. We don’t have a Joe’s Crab Shack in Austin anymore so every time we visit Corpus we go see Corinne and get some tasty drinks and seafood. Always a fun and delicious time, great to bring my kids and dog with me. Amazing family time with the best service from Corinne. She’s super kind and sweet and amazing at what she does!
My 11yr old son and I have always loved coming here. It's pricey now, since the pandemic, but we still come. The food is excellent and he gets to meet other kids on the playground. Our server was Makayla. She's amazing.
We came here about a day at the beach where we managed to get sunburnt playing sports in the water, so we were pleasantly surprised when we discovered the restaurant to be rather empty and no one to disturb us and our experience.
Drinks came fast and our meal too: we had a mix of sea food and mussels in the pot for me. Our drinks were brilliant and we took 2 clean glasses with us home, as we tend to do whenever we visit these similar locations around USA.
The waiters and bartender were very friendly, I assume this must be a great place in the evening.
I was in CC over Thanksgiving. I stopped in and had the sweetest waitress; Montana. She was attentive and so personable. The coconut shrimp were amazing . The dipping sauce for them was phenomenal. I also had a delicious drink. The bartender knows what she’s doing. I would definitely go back and I would request Montana.
