Very small restaurant. Curry dishes are the best. Do not expect a lot in service. Best to get there when it opens. otherwise, you need to put your name on the clipboard. Whole party must be present to be seated. Do not go with a party of more than 3. Prices are very reasonable for the quantity and quality.
Great hole-in-the-wall for cooked Japanese favorites. Prices are good for the amount of food you get. Seating is limited, but the wait isn't too bad. Food comes out reasonably quick and they offer take out if you don't have time to dine-in
Ono great food remind me back home Hawaii. The food was Ono and t th e people are friendly.
Love this place. The food is always good and reasonably priced. The staff are always nice and friendly.
5 start for the price and the quality.
Love their curry beef patty over rice, and tamago.
Their curry is very yummy with a kick of spicy, they give you ocean of curry, and you can ask for 1 refill of rice for free.
This place is small and you will smell oily after dining in, since it is a small restaurant with cooking area next to dining area.
The space of Tani's Kitchen is limited with only 5-6 seats so the wait is always bad. They served authentic homemade Japanese dishes with reasonable price. It's definitely worth a try but you must make sure to prevent the peak hours.
This is a very cozy restaurant. Very small, only seats 3 tables of 2 and a counter that seats 5. So wait could get long. However, the curry is very good and fairly priced. They give very generous curry sauce and second serving of rice is free. A lot of other curry places will charge you $2-3 for extra curry. Their egg is also very popular dish and a favorite among old customers.
I have been holding back on leaving a review here for a long time. I first discovered this place back in the early 2000's with my best friend and it has become one of my favorite restaurants to go to. When you hear of hole in the wall... this place fits that description to the tee. Seats up to 7-10, small space, shimming up and down the aisles to not but into people, and hidden from view.
To get on with the food, tani's serve Japanese comfort food with a small selection of sushi. From curry to udon, they are prepared with love by the chef and I am always excited to hear/see him work his magic.
Recommendations:
If you have never been to tani's... order the curry and half a order of tamago. Always a great solid pick. Curry comes with your choice of protein (chicken katsu is a great pick). My go to order is always the ny steak, done medium rare with half an order of tamago sashimi.
Warnings:
You can use your cell phone... but do not take calls on your phone while there. Be respectful and you'll be fine.
