Famous Monster Pizza Decatur

Service was great, and this was a preview night so I know everyone is still gelling in their position. Restaurant was crowded, but everything was running smoothly. The atmosphere is unique and quirky - with a classic monster movie on screen, and plenty of eye catching collectibles bringing back memories. We had Garlic Bread as an app, and the dish was well made - nice bread, crusty on the outside, soft inside. The garlic butter was clearly the good stuff and not some artificial chemical substitute. The cheese was high quality and plentiful. We had the Frankenstein Pizza (basically a "supreme" with meats, veg, and olives). It was properly sauced - not so much as to be runny, but enough to taste even with all the ingredients. The toppings were plentiful and high quality. The crust had great flavor and was cooked just right - it's a little thicker than most "hand tossed" style, and carried the ingredients and sauce well. And the cheese - oh, the cheese! That was very high quality and piled on enough to make proper strings all the way to your plate. The designer soda collection was well curated with classics like Sioux and Antiqology, and some new discoveries for me (Dang! soda for example). The shakes and floats were properly made, proportioned, and delicious. Prices were amazing. The meal was beyond affordable for the amount and quality. All in all, Famous Monster Pizza will no doubt be famous on its own merit soon. It is certainly high up on our family's list of standbys in Decatur. Kudos to the team!

Loved it! So exciting to have a restaurant with such character and amazing food. We tried the stromboli rolls, the Count Dracula pepperoni pizza, the milk shakes and the marshmallow cola (it definitely exploded lol). All were excellent. The service was great especially for a day 2 opening!! The restaurant is decorated with amazing movie monster memorabilia...great for any movie buff! We highly recommend and will definitely be going back!!
