My husband and son love good fried catfish. There are not very many places they will eat though because of the way it is cooked. Huck’s Catfish is one of the best we have found in this area. We live in Mckinney and drive to Denison to eat at Huck’s. Besides excellent catfish, their sides are great too! So glad we found this great place!
First time to go. Recommended by a friend. I am a picky eater and the food was delicious. Had combo platter. Catfish and shrimp with blackeyed peas, which were amazing, the hush puppies came out piping hot and butter melting on it making it the best hush puppy I have had in years!! Great excuse on a nice spring day to take a road trip here from Plano, TX. Huck's was recommended to us and we visited some of the places we lived/worked/shopped 40 yrs ago in area. One fillet with two sides was more than enough but we went for the apricot cobble with ice cream as well. Way too much. Meal was great dessert not so much. Very popular with the seasoned citizen crowd and locals. Off the beaten track. Lots of seating inside so don't be worried about all the parked cars.
1st adventure to Huck's Catfish. Lots of friends said how good it was. Huck's did not disappoint with the catfish, fried okra, fries, TEXAS toast, and sweet tea. The service was outstanding. I can't wait to go back
Catfish is good, stuffed crab was yummy! I've tried several sides and all were good. Service is fast and pleasant. Big place and always crowded! That is a good sing of great food. Went with a group of 12, all were happy with their food, we all got our individual tickets and they didn't up-charge for this. Highly recommend!
We enjoyed a delicious lunch today at Huck's! Catfish was the main feature all around our table and it did not disappoint! Everyone enjoyed their fish and the homemade tartar sauce was fresh and creamy....so good! I think that the hush puppies came in as second favorite....they were warm, crispy on the outside and deliciously tender on the inside. Everyone enjoyed the various sides that were chosen, the portions were generous and tasty. Our waitress took excellent care of us, making sure the water and sodas were filled as needed. We are looking forward to our next visit!
I always pick catfish when traveling. I’ve been disappointed across several states, but Hucks did not disappoint. It was some of the best catfish I have ever had.
The best catfish, period. The batter is just perfect. It's crispy, flaky, perfection with every bite. Seriously, the only better catfish I've ever had in my life was when I was a little girl and I'd catch a fish andy grandma would fry it up herself. AND the side are amazing - black eyes peas and fried okay are fire. Even the coleslaw is fire. Staff is friendly and kind, service is quick, the tea is sweet, and the fish is outstanding. Go, you won't regret it.
Just good food. We swing by here when we ride up to Iron root, grab lunch then head out. Great place, great people, great food.
I had heard so much about this place and I finally got to eat here on Monday. Nobody can explain how great the food is here. Best catfish anywhere. I could have made a meal out of the black eyed peas, green tomato relish, hush puppies and butter! The food here is simply incredible!!!
