Absolutely delicious sushi and chicken teriyaki. Kaihana has been one of my favorites in the city ever since I discovered it ten years ago. The golden rolls are to die for and the staff are super friendly! Affordable as well even considering the inflation going on which was a huge plus.

The staff was extremely kind and I felt like I was treated like family there. The food was phenomenal and with inflation, the prices were actually very very good. The large miso was delicious and a huge portion, completely fantastic. The golden rolls were SO GOOD I nearly passed away. They had a perfect crispy outside with the soft inside and amazing sauces that complimented the sushi so well. The teriyaki chicken was also amazing, super moist and tender with an amazing rich sauce. I recommend this place to anyone looking for good sushi and amazing staff for really considerate prices and friendly expirence.

Hospitality is amazing! I do warn if you're coming for really traditional Japanese change your expectations, it's a lot more experimental I'd say? Perhaps something like Hawaiian fusion, or not even, it's just whatever tastes good but they do a good job with it. The portions are large so don't worry about the prices if being hungry is the worry.

I had their sushi to go when I first gave them five stars eight months ago. I finally got the chance to eat at the restaurant, and I wish that I could give them another five stars. Update: Went to Kaihana on April 16th, since they were open if you had a reservation on either Saturday or Sunday. Was a little bummed that some of my favourites weren't on the limited menu, but it meant I got to try some new favourites, which means keeping my review at five stars. :) Adding favourites as per the response from owner: calamari tempura (hopefully you will be able to find a new supplier), TNT roll, and I wanted to try the Kaihana tower. :)

THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD AS A POTENTIAL CUSTOMER. Tried calling one Sunday around 730pm to order food and the phone call would not go through. After 4-5 attempts, decided to drive to the restaurant to place the order since the online order websites don't offer the full menu. Turns out the restaurant was closed earlier than the posted hours on the website and Google but with no obvious explanation. Next Sunday called at 4pm to check the hours of the restaurant before we picked our order out and was told that the reason why the restaurant was closed the previous Sunday was due to them running out of fish - they purposefully close and stop taking orders when they run out. Makes sense for the type of restaurant, but would have been nice if the phone system could provide that information. Told the woman on the phone we would call back once we had figured out what we wanted to eat. Called back at 5pm and they would NOT answer the phone. Spent 15 minutes calling over and over again and the call either never went through, or they would not pick up. I would highly discourage anyone supporting a business that operates this way. If you do decide to become a patron of this establishment, do so at your own peril. I will never attempt to go back.

We were passing through the area and wanted sushi. Enjoyed the Kaihana Combo, Ex Girlfriend, Ichiro and Westsider rolls. My favorite was the Ex Girlfriend, but all of it was delicious and totally hit the spot! Friendly and quick service.
