The best food we had during our two week road trip in the USA (pastrami sandwich and PMP burger). Hope to come back here!

It's the place!!!! We had lunch and shopped the store. First about the service, order taken and delivered for a party of 6 with no slips. Refills etc delivered as they should have been. The staff in the store knew their business and could speak in depth as to where the goods came from and how the ingredients had been used. Proper sources locally, and does their own staff to cut their meats, make the sausages salads etc. (Forgot to mention beef is grass fed, free range poultry etc). Don't worry about freshness, food literally flies out of the cases. What keeps me going back????? The bacon. If you get nothing else while there get a pound of bacon. If you aren't a bacon fan Proper's bacon will convert you. The sandwiches, salads and appetizers were excellent. The food both in store and plated seriously rates 6 stars. The brewery is not part of proper but they have the seating where Proper's food is served. We really liked the wine and beer we had with lunch. Again all is local. A hidden gem is their wine, beer, and ale notes. Grab a glass of wine or mug of ale and read thru all their notes. They are all written with sly humor, and once you read one you'll want to read them all.

We went there yesterday and had a pastrami sandwich and a beer. The sandwiches are big so we split one and it was delicious. Best pastrami!
