Flavors Of India Florence

Had dinner at the new Indian place. Food is delightfully and delicately spiced. The gravies are succulent, rich, and hearty. I had my favourite dish, Mutter Paneer. I ordered it spicy, and it wasn't spicy for me, but you can feel the delightful after-tingle of the spices. The curry was complex, and none of the spices were over strong. Doug ordered one of the staples, Butter Chicken. He ordered it medium and it came back pleasantly spiced. Once again the dish was perfectly balanced and the chicken was moist and perfectly done. We also ordered the bread basket. In it (today) was Garlic Naan, Wheat Naan, and Butter Naan. Like always, the naan was a happy addition to the meal, and the basket was very full so it's a great value for your money. For desert I had Gulab Jamun. They served it with grated coconut on top. The two balls were sweet perfection. I also enjoyed some Masala Chai. They served it with a cup on the side and the Chai in a pot. I love this because it's a bit more than the one small coffee cup that is usually the serving. Like everything else served tonight, the Chai was carefully and splendidly spiced. If I had any complaints, it would be that there was no music playing and that the seating arrangements were a bit tight. The music is easily overlooked. The tables however are another thing. The center row of two toppers are nice, but can't handle a large meal (which is what we always get) and make the whole area feel cramped. It's the perfect size for a single person, but for the two of us it was too small. Overall, I think that anyone and everyone should try it. It's a great value for the amount of food you get and it has a ton of promise. Most restaurants need to settle in to their menus, but Flavors of India is already there.
