TL/DR: bring your reusable utensils + water bottle +cloth napkin + ask them to pour sauce on your bowl to avoid as many obvious disposables as possible. I'd give the food another chance: tasty & not heavy.
I ordered the Buddha bowl with the sweet potatoes. The tough kale spine could have been trimmed more. I would've also preferred the watermelon radish to be thinner and more consistently sliced with a mandolin. I was really looking forward to the sweet potatoes but they were sadly severely undercooked and all different sizes so I could eat a few of the tiny pieces but the large pieces were out of the question. When I brought it to their attention they offered to make me a new bowl or give me a small bowl of their roasted red potatoes. I appreciated & accepted their offer of the other potatoes.
The grilled tofu was tasty, as was the dressing. I appreciated that the server asked if I wanted pieces that were more grilled or less grilled. I would've also liked if they offered the option to toss the bowl with dressing for me as it's just awkward eating such a leafy chunky salad in a bowl that's barely large enough to hold the salad, let alone give everything a nice mix. Plus that would've avoided the need for disposable sauce cups.
I wouldn't really consider any of their bowls "warm" if they are anything like the "warm" Buddha bowl I got: everything I ate was barely above room temperature, except for the roasted red potatoes that were likely just made. When I read warm, I was imagining all the toppings on wilted warm kale. Fresh salad is fine but call it what it is.
On to the disposables: I didn't know what disposables they used so I was only prepared with my own water bottle, utensils & bento box for any leftovers. Sadly everything here is disposable. Would love to see them offer reusables, especially when I know that Fox & Crow used to be in this space and they had reusables so they must have the ability to handle dishes back there. At the very least they could offer customers the option to sauce the bowl for them to avoid the sauce cups like I suggested above. And utensils are small: their dishwasher can surely handle washing silverware. If they could eliminate those small things (disposable drink cups too) that would make a huge impact! Please consider, Alimentary! Garbanzo converted to reusables and they are a similar fast casual set up :)
Lots of great choices and it's good stuff. The bowls are substantial; I went expecting more of a snack but got more of a meal. Will return soon.
If you are looking for a place to grab a quick bite to eat that is both healthy AND delicious, then look no further. This little shop is well worth the trip and is a good stop for any type of eater - from the vegan to meat lover. Alimentary has become a go-to for me when I need a quick meal. Their bowls and wraps are exceptional - my "warm" lunch of choice here is the Seoul Bowl and the sesame miso dressing it features is mouth-watering. I recently had the BBQ Bowl as well - coconut sweet potatoes, fried shallots, shredded beef and more. Another favorite is Akai Bowl - but really you can't go wrong.
This place is awesome! They obviously put a ton of effort into their food prep with options like seaweed salad, kimchi, roasted jalapenos, etc. I like that they offer vegetarian and non-vegetarian cuisine, so that no one has to compromise. Highly recommend anything with the tofu in it though! The quality of the food is so high for the price and convenience of a fast-casual restaurant. The staff are also super friendly! 10/10 will eat again (probably tonight).
Great healthy bowls. This is our go-to when we're sick of cooking but still want to eat well. Very vegetarian and gluten friendly if that's important to you, but also has delicious meat and fish.
