Dude, Sweet Chocolate Fort Worth

It Was A Dark and Chocolate-ty Night. I can't speak for everyone, but like most people, I love chocolate. Especially before bed. It seems to make my dreams more vivid. Now that I got that weird fact out of the way let me say a few words about Dude, Sweet Chocolate. They have several spots here in Fort Worth and Dallas, but this was my first time in. It's all about dark chocolate though, so if you are looking for milk chocolate, you can stop reading here. Or if you are curious, read on!

This place is so cool! Sample whatever you want. I didn't sample a lot but what I did, I enjoyed a lot. Let me repeat--A LOT. So much so that I bought $50.00 worth of truffles, I sampled the chocolate salami which is shaped just like one, but has no meat involved whatsoever. I just had a small sliver and it was all I needed. It had dates and figs mixed in with dark chocolate, and had a real smooth texture with a nice finish.

In my case, I went with the Hanoi Fudge (Vietnamese coffee house style-[their only coffee based candy]), the Stag Party Fudge (Jim Bean Red Stag black cherry whiskey, drunken walnut fudge), Flower Child Truffle made with bergamot, orange and jasmine and Fruity Crack Chocolate Bark, with bing cherries, raisins and currants. The boxes I purchased contain four to six truffles depending on the kind totaling about 4.5 to 5.5 ounces. The bark is nine 1 inch squares. I will probably eat a half of any piece since they are so rich and potent. These are all produced in Dallas. All of the workers were very knowledgeable about their products and very helpful. This may become a welcomed habit.

All of the products are dark chocolate, no milk chocolate. It reminds me of the movie Chocolat. Chocolate for the sexy adult. The Break Up Potion on so good on vanilla ice cream and Crack in a box is a popular choice. You can ask for samples if you aren't sure about some of the products.
