My husband and I brought two of our children to La Cocina de Abuela for dinner last night. It was a return visit for us having visited for the first time the Friday before last. We were so impressed by the quality of the food and service that we decided a return visit was called for. My husband had the pot roast, White rice, black beans, and plantains. I had the chicken Fricasse, White rice, lentil beans, and plantains. Our son and daughter each had a kids plate of the pot roast, White rice, black beans, and plantains. We were brought a complimentary order of Yucca Fries with garlic sauce as they were sold out when we first arrived and expressed regret as it is a favorite of myself and my son. The kids split an Inca Cola to drink. My husband had an Iron Beer and I had a Kombucha with lavender and Peppermint to drink. The restaurant has a play area which makes it very family / kid friendly. The food and service were as good as it was on our first visit and we look forward to returning in the near future.

I eat here about once a week and the food is always awesome but today I ordered a Cuban to go definitely was the worst Cuban I ever ate I have had 2 Cubans from there and was the best I ever had. Today i it was not a Cuban it was more like a barbeque pulled pork sandwich pressed with cheese gobs of mustard and pickles. No ham on it at all. Maybe they gave me someone else's order.

Soooo delicious! I love the healthy tasty veggie side dish too!!! The atmosphere is cute and has a play area for kids. Love it here!!! �- Happy Cubana!
