Joes is always amazing! Perfectly seasoned every time!.
....2023 still some of the best seafood in Galveston!
The homemade taste is awesome... That rice and gravy is so good... Yal better try it... 😂 the chicken could use a lil seasoning but it's still good 😊
This is my numeral uno here... I went here recently and feel in love... The gravy and rice taste so good like someone granny was in the back...no joke... The wings were made fresh I mean steaming hot..... This is now my favorite place to eat at🥰🥰
Dang again forgot to take pictures of the food. They have great hush puppies and eggrolls as appetizers and the food is also great! Friendly staff!
After a long morning at Stewart Beach that turned into the afternoon, we were definitely ready for lunch and hankering for tasty, affordable seafood lunch around 2pm. We decided to head into town on Broadway rather than stick with the local fare on the seawall. After visiting Joe’s Seafood for the first time, it will become our go-to spot for excellent seafood. The popcorn shrimp lunch special was actually enough to be shared by mom and daughter, and dad and son each enjoyed the 6-shrimp poboy that was plenty!
Joe's Seafood restaurant in Galveston is a simple hole in the wall place. Been here for years. When I am hungry for seafood on a budget and in a hurry while on the island I always go to Joe's Seafood.
Mixed review: decided to drive from Houston to Galveston for a day trip of good cigars, fine cheap liqour & cheap but good seafood. Well, I got them all except the "cheap" seafood part. I did a Google search for good cheap seafood and Joe's came up with decent review and nice food pics. So upon finally finding it, I entered to find a huge menu of seafood dishes, but they weren't cheap, the lowest priced menu item was between $11.99 & $13.99-no bueno! I finally settled on a 4-piece order of stuffed shrimp. The food wasn't great, but ok, hence my rating. I wished the fries weren't the cheap crinkled kind & that the shrimp batter was a lot crispier (the shrimp stuffing was mostly gooey cheap seafood and breading-decent. I wonder if I had bought a $15 to $20 meal the quality would have went up, probably not. So would I go back, not now, I'd rather try a few other spots google suggested on the island before coming back (Shrimp N Stuff: chk my review). Please know you'll spend on average $13.99 for any single seafood order, the nonseafood menu appeared to be quite less (but know the meals included a very small salad & a mountain of fries).
BTW, most locals got their food to go, the restaurant was a ghost town when I arrived. Full disclosure, it's a dreary old rundown bldg with no character. I thought if I could get the same food at a prison cafeteria, I'd be in my orange jumpsuit in a flash. So, throwouts your expectations when you go and focus on the food you definitely should order to go.
Must try the fried fish shrimp and gravy rice kind of expensive but worth it
Just what I was looking for. There are plenty of very fine seafood restaurants in Galveston. Trouble is many dishes start at $20. Joe’s is very reasonably priced and the food is just as good as those high end expensive restaurants.
I WISH THE PRICE WAS A LITTLE MORE AFFORDABLE BUT, THE FOOD TASTES GOOD AND IT IS FRESH AND DELICIOUS. 🥰
