When I found out my favorite Korean BBQ place closed down (Light Town House), a dramatic “Nooooooooooo!!!” was all I could say.  We gave the new restaurant that sprung up in its place a try but it didn’t match our expectations.  Fortunately, we’re in Garden Grove and Korean BBQ places are more common than 20 year old blondes in Hugh Hefner’s bed. After doing a little research, I discovered Mo Ran Gak BBQ on Garden Grove Blvd had a pretty full parking lot.  Hustle and bustle is always a good sign.  So we decided to try it and thank god we did.  My Korean BBQ torch has been passed to them. Steamed Egg Pot.  A more fun way to eat scrambled eggs. Steamed Egg Pot                   Bubbling Tofu Soup.  Tofu has a tendency to really hold that hot temperature.  So shovel it all in really fast! We're not pork fans so we ordered the prime non-marinated beef combo. The 3 person order for $126 was plenty for 4 adults since my elderly parents aren't big eaters. We supplemented our beef order with 2 small bowls of naengmyeon which were actually decent size bowls! They charge $9/bowl when ordered with the beef set. Service was good and they cooked the beef for us at our table. My parents were impressed with the quality and taste of the rice that accompanied our meal. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Always my favorite true kbbq spot. Come here if you want high quality meats and lots of side dishes. Everything is seasoned well and not too sweet. Service is fast and friendly. They’ll cook for you. We did the two person beef combo and it’s a ton of food. We ended up taking the marinated beef home. There is little to no parking when they get busy. There is a lot adjacent to the building and also an extra lot opposite but both get packed quick.
