Such a fun place to go for my birthday! The deck is great. The food was good, though a grilled option would be nice. The drink selection was varied and thoughtful. The service was great too. This place was like a breath of fresh air - a local place to patronize! We also really enjoyed playing cards while we visited. Outside music a possibility? I will definitely bring more people out.
We had a great time for our brief visit on 6/16. The staff is attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. The beer selection is excellent and a much needed departure from what is usually available in town. The pint of bacon could have been a bit crispier but the flavor was there. The outdoor deck was wonderful in the evening but some music would be appreciated. All in all we look forward to visiting many times more.
You wouldn't expect this small restaurant to have great food, but they have some of the best food in East Tennessee! I've tried lots of their items and even the Grilled Chicken salad was awesome (and I am NOT a salad lover)!
Love 💗 this place!! Outside patio is laid back, beer is cold and delicious!! I try to visit at least once a week!! If you haven't tried it, you're missing out!
Atmosphere, spirits and food were excellent! Friendly staff and great patio and outdoor areas! Trivia night is fun! Definitely will become a local favorite!
Very good selection of beers. 20 or so. The food was very good pub food. We tried cheeseburger, tots, BLT, BLT/fried green tomatoes, salads, and a giant pretzel. There are a few tables inside and seating at the bar but the best is the outside picnic tables. Prices are reasonable. Staff was good because we kept adding people and others left and the staff just took it in stride. It was an enjoyable evening.
Just left there, almost had to roll to the truck I ate so much, excellent food, nice atmosphere private small restaurant / bar. The beer cheese pretzel is an experience of its own, huge fresh made hot pretzel, so large it comes on a banana hanger, and the beer cheese is borderline addictive. Will go back, thanks for a nice time and a full belly!
I felt like I was at a country club. I had the black and blue burger that was delicious. They also have about 14 beer on tap.
Stopped for a beer after watching some Tusculum Lacrosse. Great little find. 20 some beers on rotating taps and good bar food. I recommend the wings. The owners were there working hard for the unexpected crowd that showed up and treated their customers with some awesome southern hospitality. I'll be back on my next trip.
Good, good food and the bartender was friendly and he gave us good service. The bacon appetizer - so, so tasty. Will definitely be back - rather early here where the food is as good, or better, than you find in downtown Johnson City - the friendliness of staff though is so much better at the Old Oak Taproom - no pretentious bar/wait staff at Old Oak!
