Awesome! This is not a cheap meal. Be prepared to spend up to $80 per person if you order wine and desert. However, I believe it's well worth it.
L'incanto overall was a positive experience. Having never been here before and reading the reviews, the expectations were high.
We were asked a total of four times if we were celebrating a special occasion and we let them know it was an anniversary each time. We assumed this meant that they were going to give us a small dessert or something (like many other restaurants) but nothing ever came of it nor was it mentioned again. Why even ask? 🤷♂️
The atmosphere in the front looked nice but the back mostly looks like a typical restaurant. Any other time we've gone to a more expensive place they put a lot of emphasis on the atmosphere.
Service was great. Our waitress was knowledgeable on the dishes we asked about and made suggestions based on her personal tastes and the most popular items other customers have ordered.
We ended up getting filet mignon and bolognese as our entrees along with the bread appetizer and the ravioli. The bread (as another review points out) seemed to be a basic pre-cooked bread rather than a fresh miniature loaf like you would expect from other fine dining restaurants. The ravioli was pretty good for what it was and had great flavor... it actually acted as a much better base to dip the bread into compared to the supplied oil/vinegar.
Our entrees (supposed to be the star of the show) were a little disappointing. The waitress passively said the chef had worked in a Michelin star restaurant at some point when we said we were first time diners (or something of the sort) so it immediately raised our expectations.
The bolognese was said to be one of the most popular dishes but can only be described as forgettable. No bold flavors and the noodles were a bit soggy/overcooked. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't great. I would not order it again though, I would for sure try something else.
The filet mignon was extremely tender and basically melted in your mouth... unfortunately, it was served rare instead of medium as ordered. The only pink was around the outside perimeter, while 3/4 of the piece of meat was a dark burgundy and what I would describe as warm. I'm not one to send food back so even though it was a great cut of meat (as far as I can tell) we ended up leaving at least half of a $60+ fillet on the plate. The mashed potatoes that came with the filet were fantastic and were easily the best food item between our entrees.
We did get some drinks and both of the drinks we got were great - if you end up going here I would definitely recommend the blueberry margherita.
All in all it was a positive experience but next time we're in the mood for "fine dining" we will likely look elsewhere.
Our dinner was fantastic. Excellent food and service. This is a small, Italian bistro that features authentic, northern Italian food. There are about 10 tables in the back room and a bar in the front with a few booths. Reservations are recommended. They had plenty of off-menu specials to go along with the regular menu. Extensive wine and cocktail list. I had a bourbon, the wife had a glass of wine, we shared an appetizer and a salad and 2 entrees and our bill was $100, not including tip. Yes, it's a little bit on the expensive side, but in our opinion, it's worth every penny. Would definitely recommend to friends and family and we will certainly go back.
*Update*
Consistently the most outstanding restaurant we've experienced in the Upstate over the past three years of living in this area. The daily specials are truly outstanding and a nice addition to all the great favorites we enjoy from the main menu which also change seasonally. The Chilean Sea Bass and any of the Veal dishes but especially the Veal Martini are some of our favorites... and try the Raviolo Appetizer for a unique pasta treat!
Excellent is every way! Outstanding Northern Italian food!!
Came back for the Bolognese!!! So delicious!!! The dish just explodes with flavor. If someone would ask me, what would I have for my last meal, this would be the dish 😋 The apple tart with cinnamon glaze and vanilla gelato was also very good !!!
We were seated very quickly without reservations. Very romantic atmosphere, love that booth in the back, very private.
Deliberately went mid week as we wanted a quiet evening, it was. Very enjoyable. Food was very good, no complaints. Reservations strongly suggested.
Couldn't resist the Tiramisu.
Fabulous. Visited with my wife for the first time last Saturday. We have been wanting to try it out for a while but never called early enough to get a reservation. The food was awesome and service was even better. Prices were fair and we probably or a ered more than we needed. They have a great bar area and I believe we found a new favorite place in Greer. Can't wait to go back.
Ambience and service were great, food is higher quality and priced accordingly. My wife very much enjoyed her clam linguine, while my mushroom risotto was underdone and crunchy. Thankfully, the manager agreed to remake the risotto, which was much better the second attempt.
