You get what you paid for. $50 Chirashi Sushi bowl. Taste? excellent!! I couldn't even finish it! Big chunks of sashimi! I saw the table next to me ordering rainbow roll. Gosh, it sure was the biggest roll I've ever seen with thick fish slices on top!!

This is a fabulous and very popular little sushi place. Huge portions and a friendly staff. DO NOT just roll up on this place and expect to be seated right away, especially during dinner time. Make a reservation!

AKASAKA is the best Sushi house ever!. AKASAKA offers the best & freshest tasting sushi around. The portions are always very generous, don't believe that its pricey-its not at all pricey for the quality and huge portions of food you are given. SAKO the sushi chef is incredible, her dishes are soooo delicious. We tried many sushi places in the past & this has been the cleanest, best tasting Sushi place. We've been Akasaka fans for about 5 years & won't go anywhere else. If you appreciate good quality sushi you have to try Akasaka.

Family style Japanese food. Akasaka is a unique family own japanese style resturant. just like the ones you would find in Japan. This unique little restaurant is located in the Resdential area of the Hacienda heights area, where the house was partially remodeled into a very triditional Japanese style decor. This is as authentic as they come. One think i like about is their Cut Rolls, they have this speical cut Rolls that are huge, its like the size of a sub sandwich. Great Sweet Shrimp as well. One thing I did notice was they had a female chef, that is very very unusual for a Japanese restaurant. But I have to say she does a very good job!!

Sushi, especially sashimi is my favorite food. Hands down. Having the freshest fish, eaten raw is so delicious. It is buttery, fatty, and dipped in some soy sauce and wasabi is such a perfect match. Even sushi, rapped in rice is so convenient to eat and a perfect bite of food and flavor. It is safe to say that I like my fish raw, not cooked. At Akasaka, I was pleased to find a quaint little Japanese restaurant. They served up some awesome sushi, and it was packed too. Odd, because you wouldn't expect so many people in this unassuming location. The cool part about this experience is that I took pictures with a DSLR, a first for my blog. Hopefully, you enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoyed the meal. The Chirashi bowl is probably their most famous item on the menu. Everyone was ordering this thing. The Chirashi bowl a bowl sweet vinegar rice, topped with mounds of sashimi, fresh ginger, and wasabi. Some of the fish include tuna, spicy tuna, salmon, albacore, and yellowtail. The variety

The Chirashi bowl is amazing! The best ever. Deep fried soft shell crab also wonderful, Hugh portion and very fresh crab, very crispy. And their oyster in a delicious sauce, will come back!

Very fresh sushi. Friendly and hospitable service. Very very reasonable prices. We ordered the chawanushi, deep fried soft shell crab, Clark avenue roll, mussels, yellowtail collar, and the chirashi bowl. Fun fact: they have an organic kumquat tree in the parking lot then you can grab a bunch of kumquats from, for free.

This place is a hidden gem! For the prices and their dishes, it is worth so much to come here than any elevated sushi restaurants. The chirashi bowl was like an upscale poke bowl. The cut of the sashimi is huge! Two people could share it! I saw other people ordered the sushi roll and omg, it was like 5x bigger than any normal size roll. Can’t wait to come back here!

Well it has been over 10 years since I have reviewed this place. I was hesitant at first to come due to hearing that the ownership has changed. Glad to say that I was able to come by, try the food and say that the food is still fresh, and the experience is still great. When we went by around 11:45 on a Monday, me and my friend was able to get a table right away. Luckily we went earlier as the tables started to fill up. There was a lady server who was patient and very nice, and always came by to refill our green tea. Food Decided to try what I ordered a long time ago, the beef teriyaki combo and the Charashi Bowl. We were served right away a bowl of miso soup and green tea. The Beef Sashimi Combo was still awesome, and we were able to switch out the Albacore for more of the yellow tail and salmon. The beef was still great, always good to have some hot food too, because too much sashimi could be overwhelming. The Charashi bowl is STILL A MUST. Just packed with goodness, even sweet shrimp and scallop, even great to share with someone. Again I was happy to be able to revisit this placed and discover not much of the food has changed. Will definitely try to visit again if I am around the area! Until next time!

We are so happy we found this place! The weekend special Sea Brean was awesome! After you finish eating the sashimi, they will fry up the fish and it was like crispy chip! The rolls are humongous and so good!

First timer and glad I stopped by. Portions are insane. Rolls huge! Sushi huge! Never had the volume of food till this time. Great food, cold beers, hot Saki and good prices. Service is fast but it's a smaller establishment so timing is key. Parking is good as well. Definitely coming back soon.
