The food was good, but a little expensive. The wait times to get in were long, but it was around the dinner rush time. Our servers were nice and checked on our table often to do things like refill drinks and ask how our food was.

We loved it! The food was amazing but was a little expensive. Overall the best place we ate during our stay at Hilton Head Island

Salsa was authentic and awesome!!! Chips were perfect thin, fresh and hot. We had the loaded nachos with black beans (yes, it’s an option)and chicken. It was a meal for two. Margarita was light, fresh and reasonably priced. Overall worth finding the place.

Was looking for best Mexican to eat. Reviews were good so we went. Food was fresh and very good. I got chicken burrito. It was different than used to but it was better then I’ve had anywhere else. Server gave us great service and was very personable. Will definitely be back.

This restaurant is amazing! First, it is tucked away a little. We would never have found it without a gps. The decor is old authentic Mexico. I know there have been issues with waiting to be seated ( I had a friend who left because after 5 minutes of waiting for a hostess to give them attention, they didn’t want to wait any longer). We were seated immediately. Jonathan was our waiter. AWESOME! He checked on us frequently, always happy and smiling, and fast. We have 5 kids, so we were nothing special to say the least. The chips and salsa were excellent! I’ve never had salsa like that!! By far, the best! (I hate jar, store bought salsa) This was not that. Chips came out hot. I ordered a mango margarita (actually 2). They were amazing. Next food...I had carne asada (thin steak) and my husband had carne asada Hundurian style (ticker streak). BOTH WERE PERFECT!! I loved the beans, and the pico de gallo with the meal! There was no cactus salad like other Mexican restaurants (it’s good stuff, but a waste of space on a plate, seriously). One of my kids had the Kids chicken tenders with fries. When I took the picture, we had eaten half his fries. THEY WERE AWESOME! And his chicken tenders were perfectly fried and seasoned. Even my husband loved them. Great portion for a 2 & 4 year old! My 5 year old ordered a kids quesadilla, but that was gonna before I could take a picture. Also excellent. My 2 older boys ordered the beef/chicken fajitas. Came out sizzling hot, more than enough food, and they loved it! I ordered the chicken soup from the appetizer. So delicious...chunks of avocado, carrots, chicken breast...it was amazing! I would absolutely recommend this to everyone who passes through HHI. I’m just sorry we found it on our last night there. We will probably pass through just for this place. YES, IT WAS THAT GOOD!

First time eating at Mi Tierra. We have come to HHI for the last 8 years and found this gem today! Food was excellent and service was great. It is tucked away and not on the main (Pope) road but just off a bit. Prices were no different than back home so not sure why some said it was expensive--much more expensive Mexican places on the island. The menu is robust and is traditional mexican but also a flare for local seafood. If you have a craving for mexican I would recommend it 100%. I order steak fajitas and wife got chicken chimichangas. Salsa was awesome!

Hard to find at night, but the food and staff were excellent. Prices were below what I expected to pay. Loved this Hilton Head spot.

We got a mixture of food items from steak fajitas, seafood fajitas, kids chimi dog and carne asada plate. The food was really good, our server was very kind and made sure we had refills. Forgot to take pictures but will definitely visit again.
