The coffeeline is an outstanding place to get your day started. Dennis is the only person working and he will make food for you, not just mass produced feed like most restaurants, especially in Honolulu. I can tell you from the start that he won't jump when you ask for something nor will he give you a fake personality. He is honest and blunt. His shop has been in the university area for many years and he is still going strong. Support local business and visit the coffeeline for quality breakfast and lunch food that is unmatched as well as what I would call "unique service". Aloha

If you want thrills and frills, this is not the place for you. If you want great food and coffee in a cozy and non-conventional environment than you MUST visit this place. Coffee Line is no chain restaurant, so you won't get the bells and whistles that your used to getting at those touristy places in waikiki (like a smile and a less than sincere "how do you do?"). As a disclaimer: if you're not used to unconventional dining don't be offended by his standoffish demeanour. Just tell the man what you want and he'll make it. It's that simple. Great food! I definitely recommend it!

This is your one stop shop for good coffee, interesting music, and an abundance of literature. The place is eclectically decorated and has a calm, down home atmosphere. Not to forget to mention that Dennis has a wealth of interesting things to talk about and is a master of brewing a tasty stout cup of coffee. I go there as much as I can.
