Fabulous ice cream
This is a small place tucked in a strip mall. But the fabulous selections of ice cream deserve top billing. We went just as they were closing one night. Had more than generous servings of great flavours. More than the standard vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. Unusual combinations but all the flavors are great!

I tried cinnamon toast and butter pecan, both had amazing flavor and consistency.
My friend tried Texas Oreo and banana pudding, both great too.
People are very friendly and nice, you should totally come and try the ice cream!
The only negative, and I'm being very picky, is that they don't have enough napkins and they don't take debit cards. Other than that, they are really close to perfection 🍦👍🏻

I found Hanks on Yelp and decided to try out their ice cream since I was in the area. I tasted the cookies and cream before I bought it and it was really yummy. You can tell the ice cream is freshly made. I got a small cup to go. I don't have issues with the ice cream, but I do have issues with the lady working the register not knowing her math on costs. The cup I got was 3.69 plus tax which should be only .30 cents tax which should come out to 3.99. She charge me an entire 5 bucks which when I heard her say, I had to ask her how much again to make sure I heard her directly. Of course me as a business woman who knows math very well and took 2 different accounting classes, along with finance, algebra and finite math in college, I was shocked by the total which was quickly added in my head. So I knew her total was absurd. Since I was in a rush I have her the 5 dollar bill I had in my wallet and walked out. Maybe she wanted the 1. 31 for a tip or something! So that's my only con was her not charging her customer the right amount for a small cup of ice cream.
All of the other ice cream parlors in Houston can't even begin to compare. Hank's is hands-down, the best ice cream! You'll find yourself craving it constantly.
I have to give it five stars based on the history, the love for the place, and the respect for Hank. His family runs the place now, and it’s not as consistent as it used to be when it comes to hours and service. The ice cream is still amazing, and the service is always nice, but they’re consistency with hours is damaging to business and reputation. Maybe they don’t have enough help, but a business should always stick to posted hours. 100% always either way, Hank will always be there in my mind. Can’t imagine the place without him. If you want amazing ice cream and you’re close, give a try and see if they’re open, or call ahead. That’s what I usually do when I’ve gotta have some of the best ice cream around for many decades now.
Consistently great! The ice cream is creamy and delicious. They’ll let you sample everything before committing to a flavor which makes it even harder to choose. I personally love the Sweet Cream and the Butter Pecan!

We wanted something 'sweet' so we opened Google Maps and searched for 'Desserts'. Hank's was the first suggestion.
Upon arriving, we were immediately greeted and welcomed to the establishment. There were patrons sitting at the tables enjoying their ice cream... so we knew this was a winner. We met and spoke with the owner and she gave us a brief history of the ice cream parlor, its founder - Mr. Hank - and the variety of flavors. I selected Banana Pudding (their 2nd most popular flavor) and my husband selected Butter Pecan (their most popular flavor).
They offer seasonal flavors also... and will have Sweet Potato Pie Ice Cream very soon!
Will we return? ABSOLUTELY!
Oh my my.. Now I know how real ice-cream tastes like you can taste the creamy richness and real flavors.
I got Texas oreo and cherry cheesecake(I believe that's what it was) in a cup you can get it in waffle cone also.
Hank's ice cream is a great place for homemade ice cream. Friendly employees and a good place to have a treat. The flavors vary depending on the day of the week.
