What a terrific roadside BBQ joint. I had the Big Daddy potato with a side of greens. The potato was enormous, perfectly cooked, and loaded down with some of the best BBQ I have ever had. The greens were, for a lack of a better word, perfect. Perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned, perfect portion. Best greens ive ever had. All washed down with a fresh squeezed strawberry lemonade that I will say was delightful. Not to sweet, not to sour, just fantastic. A must stop in Houston .

I've been frequenting Gilbert & Co. FOR a couple of times and I have yet to be disappointed. The one time there was a mix up in my order they gladly fixed it. They can count on me to be a returning customer!!

Rain Man

Great, smoky, slow cooked BBQ.large portions, sauce is good even though in Texas that's not a factor... Maybe my favorite thing here is the soul food Sundays. Ox tails, beans and rice, greens, etc. This isn't the traditional style eating establishment but if you pass it up because of that then you are missing out.
