Usually difficult to find parking on westside but this area of westside by njcu the parking isn't so bad...I walk in, head straight to the counter and look at the menu....first time here and you know if the place is called jerkin chicken you have to try the chicken right off the back! ...so I went with the lunch special, half chicken, yams, sweet plantains, and rice& peas...the lady who took my order also served it, I sat myself in the back where the one side booth seating are located(window view)....I do get the island feel vibe with the decor and music playing, once I dug into the food I knew this was authentic jamaican, the chicken was right on! Rice was cooked right, yams and sweet plantain were delicious....I'm not going to b.s I wanted to get the oxtails at first because I love me some oxtails but a place with chicken in the name you better go for that first lol, their good first impression on me is why I'm definitely going to come back just to get my hands on them ox tails you know lol
