I come here a few times a month because it’s convenient, fast and has delicious dim sum and bakery items. I wish they had more places like this that have dim sum to go!
This bakery is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE, I LOVE their shumai and I get it weekly. They also have a baked barbecue pork humbao that is excellent. Personally I'm not a big fan of their egg tarts because they use a more cakey crust instead of a flaky one, that's not to say they're bad they're just not my favorite style. And their steamed pork Humbao reminds me more of a Filipino Siopao than a Chinese Humbao. So I tend to pass on that one also. Again not to say that it's bad it's just not what I was expecting, however I would totally eat it happily if I was in the mood for a Siopao. This place is a MUST EAT if you are stopping into the Great Wall Mall.
Best BBQ Pork bun I've had in years; onions a nice touch! Love the chilled cakes, as visual art and so fresh gourmet flavours/textures. It's so easy to hit the $10 charge free minimum on your credit card.
Enjoy!
Amazing cakes, buns, bao, pastries! My wife and I love coming here. Even got a birthday cake for my grandpa here and my family tells me over and over how much they loved it.
Bake cha siu bao is a must have! Best in seattle! Taro bao and pork bao are top notch as well!
I'm really not sure what to think of Mei Wa. I started going here when they opened (and their steamed items were in a little alcove next door). Over the years it's gotten way more expensive, which is okay since everything is expensive nowadays, but it seems like they're branching out into an "everything that might sell" kind of mishmash of things. Steamed things, baked things, refrigerated odds and ends. Most are very good, but it's just getting more random. I'm glad their char siu bun is still the same and their egg tarts are still excellent, but I miss their cake roll with pork floss. Toward the end it was always burnt, so maybe that's why they stopped making it. Very easy to drop a lot of money here. It adds up fast.
Love this place, reminds me of old Mon Hei and has items I can usually only find in BC. Wonderful comfort food: cakes, pastries, dumplings and buns, and the front counter has always been very sweet.
