This is one of my favorite breakfast/brunch spots in San Diego without a doubt. This place has been around since 1960, which reflects the quality and service of this estabilshment. Their orange juice is crisp and refreshing. Their Mediterranean omlette is amazing. Sun dried tomatos, onions, apple bacon, spinach and feta cheese. Perfect balance of ingredients that makes each bite delectable than the last. Their eggs benedict is always made to perfection with the yolk running down every time I go there.
Service is always flawless. Staff is always very welcoming, professional, kind and very attentive to the customer's needs. The enviornment is the classic diner feel. You can also sit at the bar stools if you do not want a table. I was there again this morning and they were playing classical music, which made the entire experience very elegant and enjoyable.
Please try this diner if you haven't done so already. I promise you will not regret it.
We ate here 3 days in a row, while on vacation. Everything we had was delicious and plentiful. The last day we had the yogurt and fruit bowl with granola. The granola was made in house. We highly recommend Harry’s.
This is old school coffee shop. You’re not getting anything too fancy, but you will get good comfort food. This is what a coffee shop should be like. Was in San Diego visiting and Harry’s had good reviews, now I know why. Really like this place, so friendly, good breakfast, will be coming back next time in town.
I am going to miss Harry's coffee shop more than any restaurant here.... We came here for breakfast twice in the last 4 days!!!! This is my Dad's favorite place to come when he visits... I now understand why.. The atmosphere is so nostalgic and full of warmth and great energy... The staff is absolutely amazing and friendly.. note to Phyllis and Dorie... the best servers ever!!!!!... Oh yeah.... and the food is out of this world.. Pancakes and bacon have never ever tasted so good!!! Love you all.... as you can see you are part of my Facebook profile and cover photos!!!!!

Both the food and service were excellent!!! Wide variety of delicious looking menu options...can't wait to go back and try the chicken fried steak on top of a waffle!!
The veggie omelette and the chicken apple sausage plate were both excellent. The hash-browns especially were delicious - crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Huge portions, and really excellent diner fare.
We went on a whim to HARRY's COFFEE SHOP today, just because my partner was in the mood for some pancakes.
We got a disabled parking spot in their parking lot in the back of the restaurant, and were seated right away.
I always wanted to try their EGGS FLORENTINE, and it didn't disappoint!!! I asked for how they do it on their website with raisin bread and it was delicious. It was also so pretty to look at!!!
My partner had something new, the SUPERFECTA. I have had it about three or four times before, loved it. He loved it too.
I had so much food that I had to take some home for breakfast tomorrow.
We had a great server named Kathy, who was very nice, and on the ball.
Okay. Let's get to the important stuff right off the bat (cliche' noted). There is a rather large and free parking lot behind the building that I don't think ever gets mentioned. But a warning about the lot. It's designed, as an accident I have to assume, as two parallel "one way" parking aisles. Meaning that if you drive though one aisle you can't flip around and go up the second aisle. Each is designed in the same direction. This can be denoted but arrows painted "point to point". They just need to restripe one of the lanes. Oh, and there is a back entrance right off the parking lot.
Next....there is only one, single occupant restroom. So please don't wait till the last minute to relieve yourself. You might have an accident.
The place has a ton of seating and a relatively small kitchen and even smaller dishwashing room located next to the single occupant restroom.
The staff is fantastic and the portions are very generous. The bloody Marie is good and on the spicy side.
It's a great value and really enjoyable.
Awesome food, service, and price. There is a good reason why this place survived for over 60 years. Coffee was decent, too. I loved the oatmeal pancakes. Fruit parfait, or fruit bowl with yogurt and granola was excellent and generous. Tuna melt sandwich was delicious and even had a gluten free option! Our server Shelly was friendly and actually smiled, which I find are becoming rare these days. Street parking in the front and more parking in the rear.
First time here! It was busy and yet we were seated right away! They have a parking lot behind the cafe.
We ordered chicken fried steak & soft over easy eggs and Corned beef hash ( see photo) & eggs.
