I've been eating at Island Basket for several months now. I love Jamaican food and this is the best in the area. The brown stew chicken and the curry chicken are fantastic. Staff is friendly and courteous.
The lunch special is off the wall, for $6 you get chicken, rice and peas, vegetables and a drink.
We've been back for dinner, it's just as good.

I love this place I mean I love Jamaican food period. But I especially love they're cow foot chicken foot soup that they give on Thursdays it made me feel real good with them not feeling good. Besides that, the staff is really friendly never had a issue.
Had lunch there this week while on business in the area. Had a talk with the owner and he really believes in treating his staff and his customer the right way. This type of mindset is less and less frequent in this business race for profit world. I had the Jerk chicken with with rice and peas, the portion was good and it was a solid dish. Also tried the Chicken patty..though I may not be an expert on Jamaican Patties this one was outstanding...the dough was just right and the filling was great..they do have different ones I did not get to try but will for sure on my next visit..come give them a try and you won't be disappointed...
