We were looking for a quaint, cozy Italian restaurant with great food and that is definitely what we found with Amici Cafe. They were busy (7pm on Friday night) but we were seated and served quickly. The waiter was super friendly, attentive, and willing to answer all of our questions. The bread with olive oil dip was amazing, and the fried green tomatoes were just the right combination of juicy tomatoes and crunchy breading, and the Ceasar salads were just right. The lasagna was perfect, with the sausage just a tad spicy and the red sauce thick and wonderful, and the chicken and pesto tortellini had just the right amount of lemon flavor that I hoped for. The lemoncello was a strong shot with very little burn, the martini made with lemoncello was wonderful, and the bartender made our other requested drinks perfectly. We will definitely return when we are back in Old Louisville!
Cute little Italian restaurant tucked on a quite street. The service was quick, our waiter Chris was great conversation and our food was authentic Italian. The menu was quite witty and fun to read, and the sangria took me ten seconds to suck back it was so good. Highly recommend the patio, ‘‘twas a lovely touch.
Picture is of the chicken and sausage pizza, meatball appetizers, and x2 glasses of the house Merlot. Also the fresh bread cured my every ailment. 10/10.
You guys have never failed to satisfy. The best service hands down. The best bloody Mary's in town . I even went out on a limb and tried something new the salmon picatta , it was everything and more . And for the finale I had the tiramisu. A great finish to a great meal. Look forward to trying more of the menu.
