Cant believe I've been in Marietta for 2 years and not tried it. Ordered delivery a we got the ribs (un believable smokey season rubbed with just enough of the sweet and slightly spicy BBQ sauce). Chicken tenders we perfectly breaded and delicious. Sides were amazing as well, spicy collard greens and turky (the most flavorful we've ever had), very smoky, perfect mac and cheese and sweet coleslaw.
Delivery was fast and the driver was very friendly.
Don't let the unassuming look of this place fool you its awsome!
Looking for something different, Google led us here. This place rates 9 out of five stars. We have eaten there twice now, and will go back everytime we are in the area. Every single thing we have tried is EXCELLENT. The veggies are fresh and tasty, and cooked perfectly. The Collards are as good as any I have ever eaten, and already spiced up. The green beans are tasty and the texture is perfect. Beans and rice and corn are wonderful, too. Big surprise - POTATO SALAD - homemade and killer delicious! The most surprising dish was the Brisket. AMAZING, best I have ever eaten, and I have been around. The Ribs are equally excellent, fall-off-the-bone, and tasty. What they KNOW how to do is to flavor food. Everything is spiced to perfection and has FLAVOR. No salt and pepper needed.
Then, I got the BBQ Pork sandwich. The best I have ever had - ever. Stop reading reviews and get your butt in gear. Be prepared to wait 10-20 minutes for the best food around, the wait is worth it. The people are SO friendly and courteous, the REALLY KNOW how to run a restaurant. Did I mention the Health rating was 97 out of 100. Yeah. And David (whose place it is, named after his Dad, Frank) has a nephew who remembered me from my visit three days before and remembered what I ordered.
All of you restaurant owners need to go eat here - it is a case study in how to serve tasty, perfectly prepared food, with Southern courtesy and professionalism.
In conclusion - Apple and Peach Cobbler!
Great Food!. I had to travel a distance in order to make it to Frank's, but it was worth the drive. The wings were delicious and the shrimp combo was the best tasting shrimp in a long time. I treated myself with the peach cobbler which was great!!
Just flew in from Seattle (trip back home) and tried Franks. The food was great. Had the ribs and wife had the catfish - both were delucious. Sides were okra and mac & cheese. All great!
Awesome. Recently moved to Atlanta/Marietta and have been exploring delivery food. I ordered a bunch of food today for my girlfriend and I. It was excellent! We got rib tips, pulled chicken, boudin balls, wings, mac n cheese, coleslaw, jambalaya, and fried okra.
Every item was really good. Their mac n cheese was the best side and ranks pretty high on my list of mac. I'm a real stickler when it comes to hot wings. They weren't the best I've had, but for the price they were well worth it. It could have been a little hotter, but it still provided a nice heat. I've never had boudin in balls, but I was excited to see they offered them. These things are to die for. Amazing flavor and a kiss of heat on the tail end. The two BBQ items we had were very well done. The rib tips were plentiful and were cooked perfectly. Pretty much the same goes for the pulled chicken sandwich. The sauce has great flavor, but it's not spicy. The fried okra was as expected. I like a pretty wet coleslaw and theirs is just that. Plus I didn't see or detect celery seed in it, which is an ingredient I despise.
I'd recommend this place to anyone who likes good comfort food. Plus any guest in my house will be required to eat at least something from Frank's. I also see that this is a tight knit small family joint, which only makes me want to eat there even more. A+
