My family ate at this establishment on our last day of vacation. We were looking for something that wasn't fast food, deep fried, or a hole in the wall greasy spoon. Luckily for us, we found McDowell Local. (Well, my wife found it. Credit where credit is due.) We walked into an open, well-lit place with a rustic sort of charm to it. Our waitress came right over and took our drink order. When I questioned the taste of one of the items on the beer & wine list, she went and brought out an employee who'd actually had the item. The description given was detailed and encouraged me to try a new beverage. It was everything promised. My wife had the black bean burger, which she absolutely loved. The kids had chicken tenders and a cheeseburger. I decided upon the evening's special, a ribeye steak with asparagus succotash and pomme frites. When it arrived, it looked humongous and smelled delicious. It was, without a doubt, one of the best ribeye steaks I've ever had in my life. I order my steaks rare, but so many places seem to think that means "undercooked". This steak was perfectly seared on the outside and still marble cool in the middle. It was tender. It was flavorful. It was a delight to devour. If you think you cannot get a great meal in a place like Marion, you are mistaken. Please visit McDowell Local and visit this wonderful hidden gem. You will not be disappointed.

I have tried several burgers from McDowell Local and I have never been disappointed. They have innovative ideas that keeps their menu fresh and exciting! Using local ingredients, friendly staff and just damn good food is what makes this little eatery a MUST on your next stop in Marion!
