BBQ on the go! Wet ribs and gold wings were great. Pork nacho would had been better if no wet cheese and just did the shredded. Slaw and beans were meh. Cornmeal cake was…. I’m really not sure I never tasted anything like it my mouth is still trying to decide!!

Great atmosphere and really feels like a fun BBQ joint. The food was outstanding and I haven’t had meat that was cooked more perfectly. The sides we had were great, but there was minimal selection and there weren’t healthier options (like greens/green beans/vegetables). We did call ahead of time and ask about allergy friendly options, but they weren’t able to really accommodate requests for gluten free. The response was “we’ve had people with allergies eat here and not get sick”. My wife and I wouldn’t usually risk it, but we tried a few other places unsuccessfully and really wanted to get some BBQ while we were in Memphis. Glad we did because we loved the food, but we would have liked some healthier side options and more comfort with ordering with celiac disease.

Order takeout is super easy from the outdoor window. The wings are incredible. Smoky while still having crisp skin. The jerk option was a unique take on it. Lots of thyme not too much heat or allspice. Banana pudding was also fantastic. The pork was good and had a nice texture but not much smoke flavor. Pulled chicken was what you'd expect for pulled white meat. Not dry but nothing special. For sides the mac and potatoe salad were both good. Probably wouldn't get the beans again.

Iconic Memphis BBQ. After driving to 3 locations, we could only find one location that looked like a functioning restaurant. It was near downtown in the shadow of the Lorraine Motel where Martin Luther King was killed and the Civil Rights Museum stands. Don’t let it’s appearance fool you. Inside is rustic and has some down home REALLY GOOD EATIN!

Tried to go to the one downtown but a Lacrosse Team got there just before us so there was no seating so we came here. The service was fast and the staff so friendly. The food was so good - very fresh and large portions! We would definitely be back if we are back in the area!

Authentic as it gets. The meat on is on point. Great ribs and the BBQ sandwich was great too. Pass on the slaw, pretty bland. The Mac and cheese and green beans were good. In town for a short stop over and went twice in a day if that says anything!

Great barbecue! Best we have been to in Memphis! Great price and lots to eat. Loved the sides we got, too. Very quick and friendly service! Nice seating indoors or outdoors. Best ribs ever!! Can get crowded at times but they handle it well. Atmosphere was good and again, employees there rock, super hardworking to handle large crowds.

Had the Regular Brisket Sandwich with Slaw. And it was very good, tender brisket and good cole slaw. Also had the Pulled Pork Plate with Mac N Cheese and Green Beans, side portions were a bit smaller than a dinner plate should come with but nice use of seasoning on top of the Mac. The Pulled Pork was very tender and delicious and the mild sauce had a very nice taste to it as well. It was busy and seating is VERY LIMITED but the food and quality are very positive.

We normally cook on Memorial Day but choose not to this year, but still had to have some ribs. We heard about this place from a friend and drove almost 2 hours to get there. The line was outside the door, but moved very fast. We ordered and took our seat, the place was packed but the food came quickly. It was fresh and hot! We noticed that everyone working there was friendly and hustled to get their job done. Table were cleaned the very second someone got up. Very impressed with the food and service!! We'll be back!! Try the combo... we had ribs, pulled pork and brisket with beans, tater salad and mac&cheese. Everything was great!

Oh my, everything was delicious, including the draft beer! Loved the warm mild self serve pump BBQ sauce. It even had a little kick. So much better than a cold sticky bottle on the table. Huge portions.

Central BBQ. Midtown. 4/2/22 Got the half rack with beans: green and baked. The ribs were half and half with the wet side being hot bbq sauce. The interior is a little run down. It is the original, after all. It’s a little inconvenient that the restrooms are out of order, but there are portapotties outside! The ribs have great flavor. There’s a fantastic smoke ring and the rub is very flavorful. The sauces are good. There ls a little kick to the hot. But I’m a pepperhead and love the heat. The mild is just as good. The sides are nothing special. The green beans were kind of bland. They have a vinegar bbq sauce that really kicked up the taste of the green beans. Their hot bbq sauce also helped their baked beans along

Excellent food. Their bbq sauce is spot on. The meat was great. Fries were tasty. Wasn’t disappointed at all. I regret not trying the ribs, apparently they’re absolutely amazing. I’ve never had slaw on a pulled pork sandwich before but it was a surprisingly good combination. Dairy allergy friendly— I didn’t ask about the large (shown in the picture) but the bun on the regular sandwich does not contain milk, and the buns are not buttered. My brother got the Mac and cheese and said it was great.

Awesome place. Started out with a regular pork sandwich with some mild sauce - delicious. My eyes were bigger than my stomach for round two, which was another pork sandwich, a brisket sandwich, and a half rack of dry ribs. The ribs were to die for - I’m still thinking about them the day after as I write this review. Meat was tender, fell off the bone, and was seasoned to perfection. A must if you’re ever in the area!

Out of everything we tried, the wings (jerk) and banana pudding were the best things. We wanted to try ribs but they were sold out at the time. We also got a pulled pork plate and a pulled chicken plate. The onion rings, potato salad and macaroni and cheese were all great for sides. If we had only tried the plates I’m not sure it would be a 5 star review but the wings and pudding really send it there.

First time in Memphis and had to try some Memphis BBQ. Central BBQ was great. There is a window outside where you order and pick up plates. The parking lot is kind of small at first glance. If you drive towards the back and turn left to go behind the building, there is more parking and the exit. The pulled chicken was moist and the mac and cheese and bbq beans was good. I like how they included some small animal crackers in the kid's basket. Would recommend.
