One of the oldest Serbian restaurants in town. Great food and atmosphere! Great place for catering and events as well . Highly recommended for all .
This place is AMAZING!! Everything was so fresh, the atmosphere was nice and cozy, and the owner, Natalia was so kind and friendly! Definitely would recommend!
Restaurants today pale in comparison to the quality, flavor and integrity of the Old Town Serbian Gourmet. There’s no place in Milwaukee like this!
Excellent food! We were a mixed age group and wondered how the little ones would do...well, they loved the burek, the chicken paprikash...they loved everything that was served. Delicious and great service.
Absolutely wonderful experience. The service was impeccable and the food was outstanding. Worth going to for a nice evening out no matter what the size of the group. Will be coming back.
This restaurant opened in 1971 and I have been coming here since 1980. The food is wonderful, service is ok. But, we still keep coming back and will til we can't no more!
We had Stuffed Zucchini, Goulash, and the Baklava for dessert. It was very good and made for a nice intro to Serbian cuisine. It was more mild than i expected, so if you like spicy foods, you might ask them to make yours more exciting. Be sure to try the Baklava which is denser and more flavorful than the same dessert in other Mediterranean cultures.
Wonderful food. My burek was delicious and immense, easily enough for three meals. My companion's moussaka (I think that's what it was) was also delicious. Our desserts, schaum torte and baklava, were excellent. Service was quick and courteous. Definitely one of the better restaurants in Milwaukee.
Great food and service!. The burek is wonderful--significantly better than Three Bros. I love coming here and enjoying it's charm. The service is excellent. I hope this place stays around for another 40 years.
Old World Charm. When you walk in the door of Old Town you are transported to another time with decors and delicious aromas coming from the kitchen. Having grown up in a time when families actually spent a Sunday afternoon cooking a large meal it brought me back to my childhood.
I was excited to find "cabbage rolls" on the menu
(sorry the serbian name escapes me). Warm and delicious they did not spare a chance. Stuffed peppers, stuffed grape leaves and stuffed zuccini all had variations of a wonderfully seasoned rice and meat mix.
Service was pleasantly slow which none of us minded.
We will definately be back.... Mayo
We went for a family style dinner for six. We were greeted and immediately taken care of. For appetizers we were served tomato salad with feta cheese and borek. For main course we tried chicken paprikash, musakkha, skewers with stir fry veggies and mashed potatoes. Absolutely loved the paprikash and borek. The mashed potato was very smooth which I liked. The food was more than enough for 6people and tasty. Highly recommend the restaurant!
We used to dine here years ago when we lived in Milwaukee. In town briefly and decided to revisit. Still wonderful old school atmosphere. Food was great. The Burek alone is worth the trip.
It was Thanksgiving Dinner. It was okay. I had traditional Turkey dinner. My grandson 6 , shared with me. He liked it very much . Just the turkey and potatoes. My Son said , well. Once is enough here. We all agreed ,
Cheese Burek is excellent! We also had goulash (delicious, but cold. ) , Veal Provance, good but cold. Their soup, mashed potatoes, sides ALL cold. Not room temp, actually chilled. Drinks are horribly expensive and weak. Hi-ball in a very small glass $12. Glass of soda $8. Not acceptable.
I enjoyed great food, great service, and a nice atmosphere. Food was well prepared and, considering everything that goes into making it, done in a timely manner.
I was impressed with the variety of foods and Balkan drinks available, the folks in charge do a great job sourcing things that I've looked for for quite awhile.
