Been meaning to try this restaurant and did so tonight. Loved it! Great service, everyone very friendly. I liked the self seating option. I had the classic lobster roll and my hubby the chicken sandwich. We both loved them. They have the best fries! I liked the Truffle sauce, went great with the fries! My husband preferred the cheese sauce. They have a larger size lobster roll but I found the classic with the fries to be perfect. I didn't have room for their brownies which looked amazing. May try brownies next time.

I have to say the place was great. The food, the drinks & the staff was great. I had the Surf and Turf Burger that is a nice thick piece of filet mignon and chunks of lobster & some sauteed onions and cheese Mmmm it wss so sooo delicious... But the french fries could have been a little bit better a lot of it was broken up small pieces only had a few long pieces but when someone asks for cheese on them or some other stuff on it you should put it on a plate and make like cheese fries when someone wants cheese friesjust saying ..

3/18/18 Saw this place on FB earlier today, suggested we try them. You order at the counter, find yourself a seat and your food/drinks are brought to you. We weren’t disappointed with our choices. I had the “Filet Mignon” that just melted in my mouth...I mean wow. William loved his “The Rex” signature Angus burger. Fries...delicious with the black truffle sauce. Then we were chatting with the owner and he brought over a crab sandwich that was excellent, thank you! We’ll be back...so if you’re in Mineola stop by The Rex. Brenda & Bill. PS: There’s another restaurant in Westchester.
